Rosario Dawson and Jason Lewis Split

Awww, this was one couple that I wished would make it.

Actress Rosario Dawson and former Sex and the City star Jason Lewis have broken up, Us Weekly has learned. The couple began dating in 2004 and had been living together in Hollywood since November 2005.

"[Rosario] was telling people a few weeks ago that they're over. She's really upset," a source tells Us Weekly.

As recently as October 23, the couple were videotaped by TMZ enjoying an extended hug outside an L.A. restaurant. The Web site called it “one of the longest celebrity hugs ever caught by a paparazzo's lens.” The site added, “It's nice to see young actors so clearly nuts about each other.”

No word yet on why the couple called their relationship off. However, in March 2006, Dawson confided to Britain’s Culture magazine that the attention her boyfriend gets from other women can be difficult to handle.

"Every time we go to a party, Jason is soon surrounded by a group of women of all ages,” she said. "They openly put their hands all over him - even between his legs - and ask him out. I am sitting there alongside him, watching all this."

She added: "Even I have been surprised by their behavior. Yet I always think it is impossible to shock me."

Lewis, 35, is a former model who broke into acting with his role as “Smith Jerrod” on Sex and the City. He has three movies in the works including The Attic, The Life and Death of Bobby Z starring Laurence Fishburne, and Mr. Brooks starring Demi Moore and Kevin Costner.

Dawson, 27, recently finished shooting Killshot with Diane Lane and will reprise her role as “Gail” in Sin City 2 next year. At the age of 15, she was discovered while sitting on her front stoop in New York City and asked to star in the cult film Kids. Last year, she showed off her singing chops in the movie adaptation of the musical Rent.

Reps for the couple had no comment
