Default Dita Von Teese says women don't need babies

Dita Von Teese insists she may never have children with husband Marilyn Manson, because she believes babies are not necessary for a happy marriage.

Von Teese, 34, is tired of people asking when the couple will have a child - and says she may decide never to have any children.

Von Teese says, "Neither of us is ready. I don't feel that we need to have children to validate our marriage and I don't need children to claim I'm a fulfilled woman."

Good for Dita, and it's nice to see a celebrity aknowledging this somewhat unpopular point of view.

^^^hahahaha...that's funny. Actually, though, she has a point. Not everyone is cut out to have kids or even want them. And they shouldn't have them for any other reason than they really want that kid.

Good for her for not caving to societal pressure and having babies because it's 'expected'. Just because women can have children doesn't mean they have to. Go Dita!!

I like this article because I'm sick of people who expect married people to have kids. I'd hate to have a kid in this world, seriously. Its becoming a more rough and horrible place by the minute.

Tell me about it. I'm doing my best to make sure my kids don't turn out loony but it isn't easy with all the crazy parents and kids around.

I think that for all the bustiers and whatnot, Dita is a fairly intelligent woman. If you aren't ready for kids, don't have them. They will suck every ounce of "free time" and energy right out of you. And, the world isn't becoming a better place to raise kids - that's the real shitty truth - it's getting worse.

Smart chick. I too would hide my ovaries from Marilyn Manson. Lock them up and throw away the key. I actually have to say thank you to Dita. Thank you for not spawning anymore demons. heehee. Whew. Glad that is less worry on my mind!

Go, Dita!! I'm SO FUCKING SICK AND TIRED of all married women being assaulted with questions about 'when' they will have a fucking baby, like it doesn't even occur to some people that not everybody with a uterus wants one. I'm glad she's saying it loud and clear because too many people try to be coy about it (we aren't ready, it wouldn't be fair to the baby because we are so busy, blah, blah, blah) to avoid getting blasted by idiots who act like you are Satan incarnate just because you enjoy not being a parent.

ITA, just because you are able to have a child, doesn't mean you should. Some people just don't want kids, plain and simple. There is nothing wrong with that.
Never worry about the word being underpopulated, Mississippi has enough teenage mothers to keep things going. My daughter knows at least 15 kids pregnant at her school right now. 15 kids having kids. Talk about a way to start out...it's sad...

and the gene pool breathes a sigh of relief...

No, seriously. Good for her. I truly think that some people are just not cut our for the demands of parenthood. They should not have little children who will inevitabley turn out to be little monsters who terrorize my children...just sayin.

However, both sides of this " argument" ( why is this an argument) tend to get nasty and say very divisive things that don't help women out in the grand scheme of things.

Sometimes the child free sound just as bad as those preachers who want your uterus to be a factory for the lord.

I was reading an feminist philospher who believes that women always find ways to divide themselves, and the society of women need to say that women, in all their choices and forms are OK.

So if you do not want to have kids...it's OK
If you want to have 30 kids...it's OK
If you are not fulfilled by having kids...it's OK
If you are fulfilled by having kids...it's OK

If, like me, you wish you were the kid, it's ok....
