HOLLYWOOD - Hollywood wild man Mickey Rourke has blasted Tom Cruise for publicly criticizing psychiatry, calling the superstar actor a "c**t."
Sin City star Rourke regularly sees a therapist, whom he credits with saving both his life and career, to discuss his irrational dislike of certain actors, which has caused him to turn down a number of roles.
And Rourke was outraged by Cruise's infamous appearance on the Today show last year, during which he criticized Brooke Shields' use of anti-depressant medication when she was diagnosed with postpartum depression following the birth of her first child.
Cruise is a staunch follower of the Church of Scientology, which publicly opposes the study and practice of psychiatry.
Rourke says, "(My therapist) saved my f**king life and my career. I don't care what Tom Cruise says about therapy. F**k him. C**t. Pick on poor Brooke Shields.
"People need medicine and they need therapists. Let the Scientologists go f**king live on a planet of their own."

Well, accourding to imdb, he has just finished shooting 2 movies and 2 more in preproduction that are due out next year. 3 of them actually look decent.

^It's an entertaining movie and Mickey Rourke was pretty gr8 in it actually.I only disliked one of the stories , the one where Jessica Alba was attempting to "act". The other two were pretty good though.

Go Mickey!  As Edie said too, i never thought i'd find myself agreeing with Mickey Rourke...But I LOVE this quote! He is so right. TomThumb was WAY out of line when he not only openly criticized the whole practice of psychiatry & therapy, but negatively singled out a woman who took some medicine simply for the purpose of trying to get better for the sake of herself & HER CHILD. I'll never forget that idiotic closeted-gay midget's stupid, irresponsible comments & his sickening "holier-than-thou" condescending attitude. I'm no big Mickey Rourke fan, but his career HAS definitely been on the upswing. (as unlikely as that seems!) Like other people have already said, "Sin City" was a very popular movie--it did well critically & commercially, and Rourke's performance was commended. And my friends & i liked the movie "Domino" that he was in with Keira Knightly in the past year or so, too.
