Attorney: Anna Nicole may have dyed baby's hair

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- An attorney for the ex-boyfriend of TV reality star Anna Nicole Smith said she believes that Smith dyes her new daughter's hair.

The model, who usually sports platinum blonde hair, may have dyed her infant daughter's locks to make it appear the father is Smith's current companion, Debra Opri said Monday.

Smith's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, who claims he is the father, saw the child with dark hair in leaked snippets of an "Entertainment Tonight" interview of Smith, Opri said.

"It's horrendous," Opri said. "We are calling our experts right now to see if dyeing an infant's hair is any way toxic or harmful to a child."

Birkhead frosts the tips of his sandy blonde hair. Smith's current companion, Howard K. Stern, appears to have naturally black hair.

Smith's attorney Ron Rule said the allegations of hair-dyeing were ridiculous

Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, almost 2 months old, is the subject of two paternity lawsuits -- one filed in California and the other in the Bahamas, where Smith and Stern currently live.

Birkhead initially filed a lawsuit demanding Smith and the child come to California to establish paternity through DNA tests. A hearing is set for November 8.

A second lawsuit was filed by Birkhead last week in the Bahamas alleging Smith and Stern committed fraud and conspiracy.

Smith's daughter was born September 7. Three days later, Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, died while visiting her in a Nassau hospital.

The results of official toxicology tests and a police investigation into his death have not been released.

In Nassau, Smith was hospitalized with pneumonia at the same medical center where her son died under mysterious circumstances in September, a lawyer for Smith said Tuesday.

Smith was being treated at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, attorney Wayne Munroe said.

"She has a slight case of pneumonia," Munroe told The Associated Press. "We've had a sudden change of weather here due to a cold snap."

As nutty as Howard & Anna are, I think Larry only cares about this child because the mother is someone famous. He seems like the desperate type. In a recent issue of Us Weekly, in an article about this Anna Nicole Smith paternity debacle, it shows a picture of 1-week-old Dannielynn next to a picture of Larry as a 1-wk-old baby. They look EXACTLY ALIKE. And little Dannielynn has blonde hair. If suddenly Dannielynn now has black hair, whereas just last month she had light blonde hair, then i agree with Larry & his attorney--That is very suspicious. Especially in light of the fact that in the article (which i'd bet my bottom dollar that conniving sleeze Howard K. Stern has seen), Larry's attorney states that she's using Larry's baby photo as a piece of evidence pointing toward Larry being the father, in the paternity case. I could totally see that manipulator Stern reading that article, seeing Larry's baby photo, and freaking out, and saying, "Oh sh*t!!! Dannielynn looks just like Larry did as a baby; we HAVE TO do something to make Dannielynn look less like Larry and more like me!!!!"--and then dying Dannielynn's hair. And if those two nutjobs DID dye that poor little baby girl's hair, then that is disgusting! And IMO those two do seem crazy enough & desperate enough to stay in the Bahamas furthering their bogus claim that Stern is the father, to do it, unfortunately.

Laurent, i here what you're saying, but, i know if it was my child trapped down in a foreign country with two drug-addicted wackos, i'd jump at the opportunity to go on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, & any other show on which i could make my voice heard. I think that by going on TV, Larry is just doing everything he can do to state his case & voice his desperation. He must feel helpless, with his baby that he can't get to no matter what he does, separated from him in another country.--Especially in light of the horrible things that have been going on around little Dannielynn. I really believe he is the father of Dannielynn, and Larry knows he is the father, and like pretty much any parent would be, he is desperate to get to his baby girl, IMO. I can just imagine how badly he wants to get his baby girl out of that crazy, sad, messed-up environment that is the Smith/Stern household. I'd be "screaming at the top of my lungs" in desperation too, in any medium that would let me (TV, whatever), if i were in his shoes. I hope very much that Larry gains custody of his daughter.

Who's "lecturing" you??? If you're referring to me: What you apparently saw as a "lecture" was simply a post by me talking about this case. I brought up the Us article about how Anna's baby looks just like Larry, since i thought it was relevant in this thread. I quoted you because you mentioned "What does hair color have to do with paternity?" which tied in with what i was talking about in my post. For all the press and people involved in this whole fiasco who keep calling Anna and Howard 'crazy', I think they're the crazy ones!! Since when does the color or a child's hair determine who the father is? Helloooooo!! Sometimes a child doesn't look like either parent because he/she looks like an aunt, an uncle or a grandparent. I have a friend who has 3 kids...two redheads and a blonde when neither she or her husband have red hair! But she showed me a picture of her husband's grandmother and that lady had flaming red hair! Those kids inherited the red hair from their paternal great-grandmother.

Another example is my former boyfriend. He was was caucasian with bright blue eyes and he had hair as dark as Howard K. Stern (my boyfriend was 48 years-old when I met him). But he was actually a blonde as a baby, but his hair got darker the older he got. I saw his baby pictures and couldn't believe how blonde he was. It went from blonde, to sandy blonde to light brown, brown and by the time he was 25 or 30 years-old, he had DARk hair! Also, both his parents had hazel eyes and yet he was the only one of his 4 siblings who had the bluest eyes ever. His brother and sisters either had hazel or green eyes.

Genetics are the strangest thing ever--you just NEVER know.

^^^ It is not about genetics. If the child was born with blonde hair as was seen in the photos sold to the press by ANS, she should not now have jet black hair. It is more common for kids to be born with a head full of black hair, have it fall out and come back in lighter. Or as with your bf over years, many years, his hair got darker. That is very common. It is not common for it to happen to an infant like that.

Um, i don't think anyone has said that hair color determines whether someone is genetically related to someone or not, or whatever it is you're getting at here. As Sluce pointed out above, the issue is simply that the baby went from being blonde (coincidentally like Larry Birkhead) to now suddenly having black hair (coincidentally like Howard Stern). And that is odd--for a baby's hair color to change that way, on its own. End of story.

I don't believe Larry's motives are as pure as you do. I don't think he's sitting around feeling helpless and separated from his daughter - I think he's racking up some media attention for himself.
