Washington Cancels Ellen Interview After Fight Joke

HOLLYWOOD - Actor Isaiah Washington has scrapped a planned interview with talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres after she poked fun at his recent spat with costar Patrick Dempsey.

Washington was scheduled to tape an interview with DeGeneres yesterday but pulled out after the TV personality joked about his on-set fight during a chat with castmate Katherine Heigl.

Heigl played down the spat on the show, admitting she wasn't privy to comments that were made to spark the brawl, but told the talk-show host, "It was something silly and manly."

And when lesbian DeGeneres revealed she was relishing interviewing Heigl's costar, who reportedly sparked the Dempsey fight by making a gay slur, the actress jokingly warned her to "step back."

DeGeneres responded by saying, "He better not call me a name... I'll be swinging."

Publicists for the chat show insist the interview with Heigl isn't responsible for Washington's decision to cancel--he was simply forced to change his plans due to a production schedule switch.

Yeah right... he's a bully who thinks that he can make slurs about other people but is scared to go on a show and possibly be confronted about it.

It does seem like Washington is afraid of Ellen. And Ellen would probably ask him some tough questions. And ABC really wants this story to go away. US Magazine has the ABC fued as their cover story. But I think People's Magazine pretty much confirmed Washington is going nowhere. Grey's Anatomy is the top show on American television meaning a lot of advertising revenue meaning millions upon millions of dollars is on the line. According to the People's Magazine article on their website. The story about Washington being replaced is BS. Rhimes and ABC aren't going to do that.And what? Wreak the top show on American TV. Washington should of apologized SOONER. I think ABC has decided they have moved on. Because at the end of the day if they fired Washington they could of lost some viewers, the chemistry might not have been the same. And this is showbiz at the end of the day ABC cares about making money.
