(CBS 5) Take singer Jessica Simpson and mix in CBS 5's new daytime talk show host Rachael Ray -- and you've got yourself a recipe for a fun-filled chat about cooking, crushes and cheese.

"I love Velveeta!" exclaims Jessica when asked what her favorite food is during the visit to Rachael's show. "Or anything fried. It's a Texas thing."

Jessica's visit with Rachael airs Monday at 9 a.m. here on CBS 5.

Of course, when you appear on Rachael's show, you can't expect to simply talk about food, and so Jessica soon finds herself hanging out in the kitchen and helping Rachael whip up a pretzel crusted chicken breast.

Speaking of dish, the gals also make time for a little girl-talk, with Jessica revealing that she has a thing for a certain celebrity, and recalls their first meeting.

"I made a fool out of myself in front of Johnny Depp," admits Jessica. "Dane Cookand I hosted the Teen Choice Awards and Johnny Depp made this surprise appearance and I was struck. I said all the wrong things and I ended up saying, 'Okay, I'm gonna shut up now and walk away.' I said it right to his face and it was so embarrassing."

But Jessica certainly has nothing to be embarrassed about when it comes to her career. She'll talk with Rachael about her latest album, A Public Affair, which is heating up the charts, and 'Employee of the Month,' her new movie co-starring Dane Cook, Dax Shephard and and Andy Dick, which debuted in the top five.

For a while she was trying to convince us that the "dumb blonde" thing
was just an act, and that she was actually smart, in spite of her
scripted image. I guess she's given up being smart.

And what the F is "It's a Texas Thing"!? Is it something I wouldn't
understand because I'm not from Texas -- because only they
like fried food? That's worse than the gossip bitch who signs
off her column saying, "only in New York." Dumb broads.

See, now if I had met someone I found incredibly attractive (for me JD doesn't fit the bill), I'd probably do the same thing. In fact, I'm almost positive if I ran into Christian Bale on the street, I'd manage to trip over nothing and spill coffee all over him.

I don't totally get the hate thing for JS. Her father is a beast but she strikes me as an ok kid who has some farked up parents. She's made poor choices but she doesn't strike me as evil.

What are they talking about here? Her album tanked and the Employee of the month premiered at #3 and fell to #8 last week. It hasn't even made 20 mill.

2 things for you Bella:
1 - I don't hate the little idjet but she is an idjet. She also strikes me as a talentless hooker with fewer morals than the average hooker - even a hooker wouldn't do Bam Margera!
2 - Totally agree with you on that Johnny Depp thing - JD is a woman...

Jessica isn't evil like, say Banned is, but I hate her because she is so greedy and fame-hungry that she let herself be seduced by Hollywood right into hypocrisy. Hence going from no premarital sex to adulterous (Bam=ick) sex.

And letting to her creepy ass father direct her career and personal life is equally disgusting to me. She'll do anything for a buck and 15 min. of fame. She's a pathetic famewhore.

First it was "a country thing" for Twitney to drive with her kids on her lap, now it's fried food and Velveeta that's a "Texas thing." I'll bet the majority of the people who live in the South must hate the way that those 2 make their culture and general intelligence appear to the rest of the country.

I totally agree, Beeyotch. That is exactly why i personally can't stand Messica either. Like you mention, she pretty much sold her soul, all for fame & fortune. Went from being a "good Christian girl" with morals & values, to being such a slut that she f*cked another man while her husband was out of town. Which brings me to the issue of her leaving a good man who she made vows to who very obviously truly loved her, to apparently try & find *something better out there*.--SELFISH. Oh & how she refused to sign a prenuptial agreement when she married Nick when, coincidentally (note the sarcasm), Nick was the one with more money

....And then when the marriage dissolves, she doesn't want to pay Nick NEAR what he was entitled to (which should've been HALF of everything IMO--Jessica would be touring County Fairs by now, too low on the celebrity alphabet-list to even be a Surreal Life cast member, if it weren't for NICK & their show TOGETHER that made them both famous!). All in all, she went from someone who seemed to have morals & values, and had a marriage to a good man, and seemed to live her life pretty "cleanly"--i.e., not a nightclub-hopping, drug-snorting, slutty bee-yotch like so many of the other 20-something celebrities.--But THAT is EXACTLY what Messica has ended up being.--Just another slutty, coked-up bimbo lost in Hollywood because fame & fortune comes first in her life.

Messica is currently a laughingstock of Hollywood. Even the tabloids are constantly discussing how her career is a MESS, in dire need of emergency resuscitation! ..."Her latest album is heating up the charts"--Again, BWAHAHA!!!

--Her album is the butt of jokes, it's so bad!; her singing has been compared to that of a braying donkey; and the album is certainly not "heating up the charts". And then the topic of her suck-fest movie: Like you said, it hasn't even made $20 million. Big deal, it debuted at #5, most movies, even total crap-fests that end up being major flops, usually DEBUT in the top 5 or so, and then quickly fall DOWN, like Messica's stupid movie is doing. All in all, Messica's career & life are widely considered to be in a downward spiral.--What was the author of this article smoking when he/she wrote this drivel??!?
