Bless Claire Danes - she really is a true professional.
She refused to cancel her appearance at the London premiere of her latest movie, despite only just hearing that her best friend back in America had died.
Overcoming her personal tragedy, the brave 26-year-old smiled her way down the red carpet, looking impossibly gorgeous.
However, just before her arrival at the London Film Festival premiere of Shopgirl, she had repeatedly burst into tears between TV interviews, according to the Daily Mail.
Claire, who shot to fame when she played Juliet opposite Leonardo DiCaprio's Romeo back in 1996, said:
"My best friend in America has just died.
"I found out only last night. I'm so upset, I can't even talk about it."

^Yeah, it's odd.
But if it were me, I'd probably show up at the premiere too. You've got to soldier on. Probably they weren't as close as she pretends anyway.

Let's see...weighing the importance here of making money by having a big hit movie or mourning the death of a good friend....hmmmmm.....I'm balancing this....yup, I'm going to have to go with Claire, because we all know that being a movie star far outweighs anything else in life. What a dumb ass.

ditching her premier aint gonna bring her friend back. and they are obligated to go. i wouldnt quit going to work if my best friend died. you have to keep yourself distracted and doing things.

That sounds bad on so many levels.
If she was going in spite of his/her death, Danes ought to have
kept her mouth shut about it, and not drawn attention to her
suffering.
But frankly, she should have said, "I'm a star, I'm skipping the
premiere, they're a dime a goddamn dozen, and if you don't
like it, go fnck yourselves."

To make herself look better ? O rmaybe she was just really upset. It is an odd story though, seems like some info is missing.

Her best friend probably would have wanted Claire to show up at her own premiere anyway.
