BANG) - Johnny Depp is getting married.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor is reportedly set to marry his French lover Vanessa Paradis in a small ceremony at their home in the South of France next summer.

A source revealed to Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Johnny and Vanessa are planning to finally get married next summer at their villa. It will be a private event rather than a showbiz extravaganza."

The couple have been together for eight years and have two children, Lily-Rose, seven, and four-year-old Jack. The family divide their time between Los Angeles and France.

This is not the first time Johnny has planned a wedding - he was engaged to actress Winona Ryder and Jennifer Grey and was briefly married to musician Lori Anne Allison in 1983.

For many years Johnny was reluctant to marry again, insisting: "If you are together and you love each other and are good to each other, for all intents and purposes you are married."

Vanessa, who had a worldwide hit with 'Joe le Taxi' when she was just 14, recently revealed how special their relationship is.

She said: "Johnny is all I dreamed of. No one could love the way we love. He's a beautiful person so obviously he's a beautiful dad."

I am always happy to hear when a couple, who has already chosen to have children together, commits to marriage. I don’t see much difference in a couple who has children & live together and those who are “married” doing the same thing - other then the commitment of having it legalized.

Johnny is such a awesome guy, he's one of the most attractive men on the face of the earth and should be getting loads of attention, but he is so low key, and humble. Vanessa is one lucky gal.

Someone said in another thread a few days ago that when a longtime couple suddenly makes marriage plans, many times it's a last ditch effort to save the relationship. Hope that's not the case here.

I'm going to be the hated voice here - but I'm saying it again. I find Johnny Depp to be one of the most unattractive, feminine "men" out there! ICK!

Oh and I did not know he dated Jennifer Grey. Never heard that one before...
