David Hasselhoff Falls Asleep On British TV
Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff flirted, danced and slept his way through an interview on British TV yesterday morning, and blames his dopey demeanour on sleeping pills.
The 54-year-old attempted to charm GMTV host Jenni Falconer during a promotional interview for new single Jump In My Car, saying, "You're not engaged. Oh I have a chance."
Hasselhoff later performed a hip-thrusting dance routine to his new song, aimed at Falconer, before falling asleep during a break in the early-morning show.
However, GMTV producers dismiss speculation he was drunk. A spokesperson for the show says, "We do not believe he was drunk. There was no smell of alcohol."
Hasselhoff explains, "I was really tired. I've been in Vancouver then Leeds, then Manchester then Croydon."

What an apt quote for those who were looking on
and did nothing to stop the Hoff.

Seriously, there is something majorly WRONG with the Hoff. All this erratic behavior with his daughter's suicide attempt/cat scratch, repeated drunken and bizarre public behavior, and on TV no less. The man has no shame.

It wasn't just on GMTV either...he was co-presenting T4, essentially a whole morning of programming on Sundays, Channel4, and he was OFF HIS HEAD again, all over the presenter and generally making her very upset. It was strange.

I listen to the BBC radio show "The Interview" a lot. It's a half-hour of a well-prepared interviewer talking to, usually, a world leader, or Nobel prize-winner, or someone who's made a serious impact on world events. Often someone I've never heard of .
I was stunned to tune in to Hasselhoff of all people on the show last week, and then I was cringing at what he said. What he non-said, really. It was just empty babble, self-serving stories, and catch-phrases. For a half-hour! Really a serious lack of soul there.

Hi there myappletree! Welcome aboard!
I used to listen to that show but stopped a couple of months ago when they interviewed the person who collects lint and calls it art. Last straw! Do you suppose they're deliberately driving the show into the ground, someone deranged is booking the guests or have they just run out of interesting people?

Thanks, twitchy. Glad to be here. This week on "The Interview" they talked to a woman fighting for women's rights in Muslim countries, so they're back on track as far as I can tell. I like the show because of Carrie Gracie and the other interviewers-- they don't back down and they'll work their guests into corners to get them to say what they mean. Hasselhoff had nothing to say but you couldn't shut him up.
I missed the lint-is-art interview, but it sounds pretty laughable! I guess they do throw in the odd quirky one.
Thanks again for the welcome.

You know, at first glance, I thought the title of this thread meant that the Hoff actually fell asleep ON TOP of a TV. Now THAT would be funny. Though, this is hilarious too. You cannot go wrong w/a good drunk Hoff story.
