Anna Nicole Smith ’s mom urges actress to get in touch with her

ANNA NICOLE SMITH attempted to contact her estranged mother in the hours after her son DANIEL’s tragic death earlier this month (10SEP06), but was incoherent and muddled.
VIRGIE ARTHUR was surprised to receive a call from her daughter and is urging the busty blonde to get back in touch because she couldn’t make sense of what she was saying on the phone.
She says, "She was so drugged up, I imagine… She was so medicated, I think, I could not understand a word, other than, ‘Danny’s dead.’ "She was crying, and trying to talk and mumbling - you couldn’t understand hardly anything she said. And as soon as she said that, the phone went click, so I don’t know if she hung it up, or if somebody else hung it up for her." Arthur has been devastated by the tragedy because she claims she raised Daniel until he was six, while Anna Nicole searched for work. She’s still puzzled as to why she was cut out of her daughter and grandson’s life, but she has her thoughts about what has soured the relationship.
She adds, "She is the one making the money, and the people surrounding her are gaining from it, so they don’t want any of the family around.
"I don’t know why they don’t want the family around. We have never asked for anything. She has never given us anything."

On Extra or Inside Edition don't remember which the Mom also said that Howard had ALL the power, and that is why she thought she had NO contact with Anna.

According to Wikipedia:
“Anna Nicole Smith was born in Houston, Texas as Vickie Lynn Hogan. When she was very young, her family moved to Mexia, a small town 79 miles (127 km) south of Dallas. Her father left the family when Smith was a child and she was raised by her mother and aunt.”

Well, you are RIGHT about her aunt, but at least one site claims her mother was involved in the raising of Vicki (A*K*A Anna).

While nothing seems to mention the details of the show, I did watch it on occasion. And I never really remembered anything said *nice* about Vicki’s mother, but I do remember one fat cousin saying her mother (Anna’s aunt) raised her and they grew up together. And once the show started on E! she had yet to visit her (the cousin) and her family & she seemed genuinely hurt by it. I also remember a *SKINNY* cousin (compared to Anna during the show) who was obviously white trash, was accused by Howard and eventually by Anna that she was just using Anna to make a name for herself.

I BELIEVE what the mom is saying b/c i've seen two sad and hilarious documentaries on Anna and she has cut her family out of her life for seemingly no reason after being so close to them before she became really huge like right after her 2nd husband died is when all hell broke loose apparantly; she cut everyone out, was on a lot of drugs, broke off a close lesbian relationship she had, ODed w/ her body guard/sometime bf, and met Howard K. Stern to get that guy's money! trust me; she's no angel. & yeah HOward pulls a lot of the strings around her!!

^ What I meant was I was watching one of these shows last week and her mom said that Howard had all the power NOW which is why she hasn't been in contact with her since Daniels death.. I think this just sux, unless something just horrendous happened a grandmother has a right to say good bye to her grandchild.....

^^ Agreed. And that new little girl has a right to a family who will raise her without drugs in the picture. I hope that Larry dude is actually a stand up guy who genuinely wants what's best for his little girl.
