Lynnie doesn't want him in politics nope...but she does want him in her bed and quickly.
Although he's spoken at the U.N. and rubbed shoulders with senators, George Clooney on Monday downplayed suggestions that he might run for office himself.
"Believe me, you don't want me in politics," Clooney, 45, told reporters after an event where California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation to help stop the atrocities in Darfur, the Associated Press reports.
Told that fans have been wearing "George Clooney 2008" t-shirts, he said, "I think they're probably kidding."
When pressed about whether he'd run, he said, "That's a bad idea."
Clooney pointed out that he and Schwarzenegger had costarred in 1997's Batman & Robin – Clooney played the hero while Schwarzenegger played the bad guy, Mr. Freeze. "He's gone on to be governor, and I still think I'm Batman," Clooney joked.
The Syriana star has been deeply involved with the Darfur issue, appearing at the United Nations this month to press the Security Council to help stop the genocidal killings there.
His crusade began in April when he and his father, retired newsman Nick Clooney, spent five days in the Sudanese region filming interviews with refugees.

You two can argue about that . And I take him home![]()
Now, now. It is absolutely OK for an actor or some other kind of celebrity to get involved in politics if they are intelligent and genuinely concerned with the welfare of humanity. I'm sorry, but politicians are no smarter than the average actor/celebrity. And half of them are just as out-of-touch with reality and the rest of the world as said actor/celebrity.
I have an actor friend who is deeply involved in political action. If he were to become famous, I would most definitely NOT expect him to stop getting involved. As a matter of fact, I'd expect him to use his fame to promote his agenda, which is REVOLUTION and the end of the GOP et. al.
^^ As I said before, I'd rather have intelligent celebs involved in politics than dumbass/inept no-name Senators and Representatives and Mayors and whatnot. Hello? Marion Barry anybody??? Some might even say that Ray Nagin of New Orleans is unworthy of his post.
Here's a question: Once a politician becomes famous and, hence, a celebrity, should that politician give up politics??![]()
I think Marion Barry is a loser but he did make the unrepresented poor majority of DC feel like they had a voice. They could relate to him, maybe even more because he was a crackhead. Remember that we do not have real voting representation in Congress but we are still taxed. A revolutionary war was fought over that, if you recall.
^^ Yeah, that's fucked-up, dakodas. My cousin works for Eleanor Holmes Norton, and I was shocked to hear that she doesn't get a vote.
I hear ya on the Marion Barry thing. How sad is that? Po' Black folks have a fucking CRACKHEAD to "represent" them?? Come ON, Black people!! Aim a little higher, why don't you??!!?![]()
So did W back in 1997. He used to joke with reporters that they shouldn'tAlthough he's spoken at the U.N. and rubbed shoulders with senators,

I'm still waiting for Alec Baldwin to run for President. I fully expect that to happen. Seriously. I do...
I love George but I have already committed my vote to Oprah. She's going to run the world - right?
^^ Ugh. I like Oprah and all, but HELL NO, I don't want her running the world. It'd be so.... boring.
