Star Jones has given the National Enquirer an ultimatum: either admit that a story calling her her marriage a "sham" is untrue, or prepare to do battle in court (and remember, Star is a lawyer).

Bob Chapman, the high-powered attorney who represents Star and Al, tells TMZ that the Enquirer's story that Al is gay and the marriage is falling apart is not true. Chapman insists, "They are happily married," adding that Star is "emotional and stressed out" over the story.

The article in question, published in this week's issue dated October 2, 2006, features the headline "Star Jones' Husband Walks Out!" In a demand letter to the Enquirer, Chapman writes the article is "false and defamatory" and has "caused them massive damage." The letter also states, "You have also chosen to state that Mr. Reynolds is gay. While Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds believe that everyone should be free to make their own choice concerning sexual preference and that there is nothing wrong with being gay, you have nonetheless chosen to falsely state that Mr. Reynolds is gay." Chapman also states that the Enquirer has done "grave damage to their reputations, both publicly and privately."

Brad Zeifman, a rep for the couple, issued the following statement to TMZ: "Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds have tried to handle these vicious lies and attempts at character assassination with quiet dignity for far too long...now they will pursue immediate legal action against anyone who makes false statements about their family."

In a recent interview with Jawn Murray of AOL's Black Voices, Star stressed, "I love my husband and he loves and respects me-period! People can say what they want, but Al and I share what I like to call an unbreakable bond." Star reminds the public that, "It's not easy being under such intense scrutiny by the media. All we're trying to do is live our lives as Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds."

A rep for the National Enquirer had no comment.

And how, exactly, do you prove in Court that someone is gay or not? Is there some kind of DNA test now? Do we have gay or straight germs that can now be tested? She can show the pics of her wedding night [shudder] and Al maybe giving her a studly dose of manlove, but that proves NOTHING as Katie Holmes can confirm.

Oh lord, Star sure is a clueless, thick-headed, stubborn nitwit! Pretty much the whole world can see that Al is gay, except her!?! What a fool. It's almost pitiful. I used to think that Star knew Al is gay & she just accepts her sham marriage, or believes she can "turn him straight", or that they have a "business arrangement" of some sort, or something. But now, i'm thinking the poor woman really DOESN'T realize Al is gay!

I mean, when you file a lawsuit like this one, claiming defamation, it opens the details of your personal life up to intense scrutiny in a court of law, all of which will be made public. So Star is honestly up to the task of having the details of Al's private life (surely of which the contents of much of it will be embarassing to her & will go AGAINST her claim that Al is straight) be dragged out publicly in a court of law??? Certainly the details of his past gay relationships, partying with fellow skimpily-clad gay men at gay bashes on Fire Island, nightclubbing at gay bars in nothing but a Speedo accompanied by openly homosexual men, & hanging out in gay bathhouses--all of which many people have alleged & said they witnessed--will all be brought to light & discussed in excrutiating detail, and i'd be willing to bet that MUCH hard evidence of Al's homosexuality will be brought out in court. Is Star really this stupid? She's setting herself up for MAJOR HUMILIATION!

"Happily married", my ass! Maybe Star is "happily married", but i highly doubt Al is, since Star is not a man! "Falsely stated" that Al is gay??!? What planet is Star on??? Even my admittedly very limited gaydar starts beeping like crazy when i just look at a picture of "Gal". And i don't exactly think that all the many people that have talked about Al's homosexuality, are making it up!

It is over-confident statements like these that will come back to bite Star in her saggy ass when the marriage (oops, i mean "unbreakable bond"

) comes to its inevitable end. Star will look like even more of a fool, for bragging about how great her marriage is, how it will last forever, and how much Al loves her. Exactly, Elvira. Yeah, sure, Star...People that want to live their lives WITHOUT media attention have their WEDDING SPONSORED by various companies for the publicity. Yeah, Star has totally been living her life as if she disdains media attention.

I think she does know. Al isn't exactly subtle about it. She probably thinks if she admits to it, she'll look stupid. But she already looks stupid for pretending otherwise.

Maybe she doesn't want anyone to know that she married a gay man. Aren't there lots of gay people that marry the other sex because they want to have children or adopt without all the crap that is given to gay couples who can't marry and even in some states cannot adopt?(which I think is CRAP) Has there been any evidence that he likes both men and women??? I know gay men who certainly can have sex with women, and have been told they would not limit themselves to just men if they found the right woman it would be fine. The couple of guys I know personally who believe this claim to be homosexual, not bisexual. so who knows???? Anyone have any other opinions about this. I think if alot of these people would just come out it would make less of a big deal than all the speculation. Besides Thetan Tom has won law suits and according to all the gossip he is a big time homosexual.
