Well that makes lots of sense I guess, although bit of a 180 there leaving your hubby for a chick, but if they're happy and the kids are fine it's all good.
SAME-SEX AND THE CITY
By HEATHER GILMORE nypost.com
September 25, 2006 -- Actress Cynthia Nixon - famous for playing the cynical lawyer on "Sex and the City" - spoke for the first time about her well-publicized relationship with a woman after dumping the father of her children.
The thespian-turned-lesbian told New York magazine the switch was no big deal - she just fell out of love with her high-school sweetheart Danny Mozes and started to pursue Park Slope education union leader, Christine Marinoni.
"There wasn't a struggle, there wasn't an attempt to suppress. I met this woman, I fell in love with her, and I am a public figure," she said in the interview hitting newsstands today.
Nixon recalled the media frenzy when her same-sex union was uncovered in September 2004.
"My girlfriend had English press on her parents' lawn . . . They almost put me on the cover of People magazine," said Nixon, adding that she had a strategy to stop the attention.
"I can't remember in what context they tell people this, but if someone is chasing you, stop running. And then they'll stop chasing you."

I smile because I have no idea what's going on
I don't think it would have come as such a surprise if the new girlfriend was at least on the attractive side ... she isn't the most fortunate-looking piece of work. Here she is:
Cynthia, sweetheart, you could have had me. I'm free [and much better looking]!![]()
Eh, looks only last so long while charm, intelligence and humor never go out of style. I'm assuming the girlfriend has at least two of those.

^^True, but this one would need lots of charm and intelligence and humor![]()
THE EASIEST WAY OUT IS THROUGH....
I once dated a guy who was overweight, balding and very hairy. Not only was he a great lay, he was deadly hilarious. A truly fabulous guy.

Hell, you just described my hubby!! Whom I love to pieces!
Really was just joking about the gf's looks...I try to tell my 16 year old that looks aren't the only reason to like someone...I mean if they mattered that much, why would so many pretty women be with ugly men or handsome men be with pretty girls...

I agree. I would have married that guy if mr. butt hadn't come along and swept me off my feet and right out of the fat baldies life.

The girlfriend is pretty frightening. But, whatever floats your boat in life.
I know another woman who was not gay, but met a woman and just fell in love. They now live together and have a great life. She has no idea what the hell happened, but its working for them and they are very happy.
I just can't get my head around the whatoosi factor. I'm not sure I could go there, literally.

Oh my god Buttmunch, it sounds like you are describing the love of my life!--No joke.Like you or someone else said, personality & humor go a LONG WAY towards making a person appealing. I've never been so madly in love as i was with this dude who is fat, bald on his head but very hairy everywhere else, homely, and 12 years older than me. And like your fat, bald, hairy dude, he was AWESOME in bed & extremely funny! To me, looks mean pretty much nothing. I've never been impressed by "pretty boys" or "hunks".
For some reason this description of Cynthia (bolded part) rubs me the wrong way....It's like they're saying you can't be a "thespian" and a lesbian at the same time! What's up with that??The thespian-turned-lesbian told New York magazine the switch was no big deal...
