Janet Jackson Regrets Apology for 'Wardrobe Malfunction'

It has been over two and half years since Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake had their infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' at the 2004 Super Bowl and for the first time Janet is speaking out about it to Oprah Winfrey.

During an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," to air on September 25, the singer has now said she regretted saying sorry because it made her look guilty for something that was an accident.

She also hinted at dissension between her and Mr. Timberlake during the interview, saying she has not spoken with Justin since their performance on February 1, 2004. When Winfrey asked if she felt betrayed, Jackson would not answer directly, but said cryptically, "Loyalty comes first to me."

I totally agree. I've never changed my mind about it. That leather bustier cup had to have been cut and sewn back loosely. You can't just cleanly tear leather. Plus that particular nipple ring. Not exactly one that you'd wear under a tee shirt. All planned for shock value and it's insulting that they'd think most people wouldn't see through it.



"CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show. The two singers were performing Rock Your Body, a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show. At the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast. The final lyric of the song goes, "Going to have you naked by the end of this song."


The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.
Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.


"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."
