Alec Baldwin rips into Kim Basinger

September 18, 2006 -- ALEC Baldwin just can't keep his bitter anger about ex-wife Kim Basinger - or her pack of pit-bull lawyers - bottled up.
In a startling interview in the October GQ, the actor trashes the Oscar-winning blonde he divorced in 2002. Baldwin claims she told such horrible lies about him that he wanted to die. And he rips one of her attorneys as an obese blowhard.

"My ex-wife once said, 'He's Saddam Hussein.' She said that. And I thought, 'Do I hide myself in cramped underground quarters? Do I like to shoot firearms in a celebratory way? Did I execute whole villages of people and bulldoze their bodies into a pit? What are you saying? Explain this to me.' "

When Baldwin got hit with Basinger's legal missives, "it said all of these things, like I wasn't a good father [to 10-year-old daughter Ireland] . . . I remember lying in bed, thinking I wanted to die on the spot . . . I would say, 'Please don't let me wake up. I can't face another day.' "

He saves extra vitriol for Basinger's lawyers at Hersh, Mannis & Bogen, who he believes influence her. "[Judy] Bogen, she's this 300-pound homunculus whose face looks like a cross between a bulldog and a clenched fist. She's this hideously angry-looking woman. She'd snarl and hiss."

Bogen did not return our call.

He says the same firm represented Denise Richards in her bust-up with Charlie Sheen, who was accused of enjoying barely legal teen porn. "Charlie Sheen may be one of the great horndogs of his generation, but he is not a pedophile," Baldwin says.

The actor, who recently rekindled his romance with lawyer Nicole Seidel, also defends Tom Cruise against his critics - albeit in a snarky way: "I think what's been done to Tom is kind of silly. I don't really understand Tom's religious beliefs; nor do I want to. All I know is I don't see people who are disciples of Tom's faith driving planes into the World Trade Center. When Scientologists start crashing planes into the Pentagon, then I think we should sit Tom down and have a grand jury talk to him. In the meantime, let's just leave him alone."

Oh please, Alec Baldwin has NO CLUE what Charlie Sheen looks at on the internet. I'm not saying yes or no, but he has NO RIGHT to be commenting on a situation he clearly knows NOTHING about, JUST to try and clear his own name. He should keep his vendettas to himself, as I said he doesn't know anything about it.

Alec is just a bitter twisted old geezer, and I am sure Kim's lawyers will LURVE how he described them.

though it does seem to me (I haven't done much research so I really don't know, I may be wrong) that Kim isn't the one talking to the media as much as Alec is. She didn't write a book about it

I think part of the problem is that he has to keep going to court to get his visitation rights enforced. Apparently, Basinger keeps taking off to Cali or wherever with the kid and neglects to let Baldwin know that his daughter will be unavailable for the weekend visit he's penciled in. In this, I think he's got a right to be fucked off and bitter. If mr. butt and I ever split and he tried to keep me from my kids, you'd better believe I'd be a whirling dirvish of rancour.

..or to write a whole book on it? Under the guise of ''helping other fathers'' when really all he's doing is attempting some sort of catharsis and public venting of anger.

From what I've read, and I may be wrong in this, Kim says he is lying about this, and I BELIEVE she did win in court last time...not sure but certainly he isn't just winning everything.

I understand that he may be hurt but at the same time do the public need to know about it in terms of doing and interview with GQ in this way, as well as being offensive to her lawyers? PLUS he's sticking up for Tom Cruise by basically slamming the beliefs of others (however messed up that may be...) I don't know, I must admit it's funny BUT at the same time he jsut seems far too angry to be doing interviews like this, it will only hurt him in the long run (especially by slamming his wife's lawyer, which is NEVER smart..)

True enough...he is, after all, the Bloviator. But I think we've all seen or been in situations where someone's behavior is so unbelievably outrageous that the opposing person goes a bit mental. I think this might have happened in this case.
