10-30-2005-Jennifer Aniston on Divorce from Brad Pitt: 'I'm No Role Model'
By Jennifer Cox
Oct 30, 2005
Hollywood hottie and newly single Jennifer Aniston has a word of advice for those that are enduring the turmoil of a divorce as she has - telling reporters in New York Sunday "I'm not a role model."
Great line - though it sounds a bit like Charles Barkley.
The actress next film, the psychological thriller, "Derailed," opens on November 11.
No word yet on whether Jen dished on her unconfirmed relationship with screen partner Vince Vaughn, but she was adamant that she doesn't pay attention to the tabloids.
"I don't look at that stuff," the former "Friends" star replied. "I just don't pay attention to it."
Dishing more on her divorce from Brad Pitt, Jen said:
"You know, it was my first time at this particular picnic. So, I just have a great family, great friends. This is nothing out of the ordinary. People walk through this stuff all the time."
"It's great having a creative outlet and having work to do, too. And when I wasn't working, that was fine, too."
The stunning actress has indeed kept busy, working on several film projects and two will open by year's end.

Jen,
I'm still on your team,
but dammitall, you have got to stop making this divorce
THE DEFINING MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.
You need to give us something to remember you by --
and right now,
you're making yourself a footnote in Brad Pitt's life.
You need to set yourself a new goal.

It sucks, it's horrible, blah blah blah...try being a divorced single mother working two jobs to keep the kids in food and clothing and then tell me how difficult divorce is. She should really just shut up now.

I can't imagine how hard that must be - I think that's one of the situations were having a job that pays extremely well would be a life saver.

They could have just asked her a question about it and she responded. Then they used it as a headline. Journalists take things out of context all of the time to make their articles more appealing/shocking, etc., esp. gossip columnists...
I love Jen and wish her and Vince well...I think she and Brad were an awful couple. He sucks. She is better off without him.

No Jen, you're definitely not. I know women who've been shat on far worse who picked themselves up by their bootstraps much better. Often broke and with kids, to boot. Go fuck a few young hotties, spend some money and STFU already.

You know, she is seriously getting on my nerves. I went through a divorce 4 years ago and now am a single mother of 2. Does she seriously think that her life is so difficult? Boo hoo, you got a divorce. I'm sure you can cheer yourself up with all your millions. Some people just don't know how good they've got it.

Agreed. Money doesn't mean that it isn't painful. And being humiliated publicly like that must be pretty tough. Imagine being dumped for a woman who is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world? Ouch. Jen seems a little insecure too, which probably made it even worse.

Sure sure, but she is still talking about it and as much as I get that it isn't easy for anyone, particularly if it all plays out in the spotlight, she still has it better than most. They were married but no kids and she's able to 'heal' in a cushioned beachfront spread in Malibu. I think she'd have a bit of a tougher time in a trailer park with a couple of hungry kids running after her with snot hanging off thier chin and a mangy dog nipping at her heels...while trying to make spam-loaf and wondering how she's going to get the money together to buy some store-brand ketchup to make it taste ok...

Of course! But I think it's the media that is talking about it nonstop. And you have to remember that a lot of what they write is BS - about both Jen and Brad and Angelina. She gave one single interview where she discussed it and that was it. On Oprah she did not mention it. It is Us Weekly and Star, etc. that keep writing things like "Jen is furious! Jen is distraught! " and fueling the fire. I am so sick of hearing about all of it and honestly I think the three of them are, too. I have no love for Brad and Angelina but I think they probably just want to move on as well.
