Default Jim Carrey Has Moved On in His Career

As TMZ's Claude Brodessor-Akner first reported yesterday, Jim Carrey has fired his longtime agent at the United Talent Agency, Nick Stevens, sending shockwaves through Hollywood. Speculation this morning is that Carrey may move to Creative Artists Agency. According to Carrey's rep, "Mr. Carrey has shared an enormous amount of success with UTA over the years for which he is truly grateful. It was a difficult decision to make but he felt it was time to move on."

Meaning he realized they were doing a shit job of guiding his career, allowing him to keep playing, over and over, the over-the-top rubber-faced clown. I actually like Jim Carrey and think he is a great talent that hasn't been utilized as well as he could be.

^^ Eh, he gives me the creeps but you're probably right. I just have to ask, what's his new direction? Drama? I don't want to watch JC be serious.

He's tried his hand at a few dramas with mixed results. I think he's in that 'no man's land, twilight zone' career stage where he can't do serious drama and he no longer has box office clout doing physical comedy.

I think he feels he just needed some fresh direction. He just needs to find the right script.

I hated Jim Carrey b/c I am just not someone who is into crude humor. My husband actually dragged me to see the Ace Ventura movie and Dumb and Dumber, I still cringe when I see them being shown on TV. But when hubby dragged me to the Truman Show I actually enjoyed it so I've seen his later roles. I also liked him in the majestic & Fun w/Dick & Jane.

He is now one of my more likable actors as long as he isn't into the slapstick crap that made him famous. But then again, Tom Hanks started out w/heavy comedy and is now more of a serious actor.

I liked him in Truman Show and Bruce Almighty . However I didn't like Ace Ventura movies . I was in highschool at that time and I went to see them only because my boyfriend insisted :p . I think Bruce Almighty was successful only because of him and not Jen A.

I loved him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Truman Show. I share the opinion that he is a great talent that hasn't been utilized as well as he could be... =)
