Is That Really Paris Hilton's Voice on Her Album?
Posted Sep 14th 2006 11:56AM by TMZ Staff

Conspiracy theorists and cyber geeks alike are claiming they can actually prove that Paris Hilton doesn't actually sing on her new hit album. In fact, they're blaming the alleged vocal hoax on another beautiful blonde.

If you believe a report from radaronline.com, there's a good chance that the voice heard on Paris' vocals was actually supplied by Carah Faye Charnow, lead singer of the Los Angeles-based indie band Shiny Toy Guns.

While a source close to Charnow admits the singer "did record vocals for Hilton ... on demo tracks," that person denied that Charnow's voice actually turned up on the finished album. Paris' rep, Eliot Mintz, also debunked the rumors, telling TMZ, "like so many internet conspiracy theories, this one is completely without merit. The voice you hear is of course Paris' voice."

In an effort to set the recored straight (get it?), TMZ has obtained a sample of the Shiny Toy Guns song, "Don't Cry Out" from the 2006 album "We are Pilots," and compared it "Stars are Blind" from Paris' newly released album. What do you think?

I don't know if it's her voice or not but I do know that all my gay buddies LOVE it. I can only imagine that this means it will be a big hit in the clubs.

My cousin has her cd [uughh] and I had the displeasure of hearing it recently in her car, and on some of the songs, the voice is different. It doesn't sound like (banned) at all.

I know what you mean!! She's such a joke. I'm just so glad she covered that shit song, instead of the Divinyls- i touch myself. Apparently she wasn't allowed to- thank god!

Maybe it's one of those songs (only a whole album) like Britney's "Toxic" where Britney sings the chorus (or something) and other singers do all the work. The song is then attributed to Britney because she is the name selling the product. In other words, I'm suspicious of many records these days especially when the singer never "sings" in public.

her voice changes in every song, probably more than one person singing for her.
