Jane Fonda says Lindsay Lohan parties all the time.
Quote:
NEW YORK - Jane Fonda praised a studio executive’s recent scolding of Lindsay Lohan for her absences on the set of their film, “Georgia Rule.”
“I think every once in a while, a very, very young person who is burning both ends of the candle needs to have somebody say, ‘You know, you’re going to pay the piper, you better slow down.’ So I think it was good,” the 68-year-old actress told Access Hollywood in an interview to air Tuesday.
In July, James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, chided Lohan, 20, in a letter for her behavior on a movie set and doubted her absence was related to heat exhaustion. “We are well aware that your ongoing all-night, heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called ‘exhaustion,”’ he wrote.
Fonda agrees.
“She’s in the magazines, so you always know what she’s doing because you can just read about it in the tabloids,” she says. “She parties all the time ... And you know, she’s young and she can get away with it. But, you know, it’s hard after a while to party very hard and work very hard. She learned that, I hope.”
Lohan’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, did not immediately return an e-mail from The Associated Press late Tuesday.
Lohan plays a troubled teen in “Georgia Rule,” which co-stars Fonda and Felicity Huffman. The film, currently in production, is expected to be released next year.
Fonda is still sympathetic toward Lohan, who is estranged from her imprisoned father Michael Lohan.
“I just want to take her in my arms and hold her until she becomes grown-up,” she says. “She’s so young and she’s so alone out there in the world in terms of structure and, you know, people to nurture her. And she’s so talented.”

I'm with Jane on this one. La Lohan has had no one looking out for her, least of all her parents, who seem to trade in on her fame for a little nibble themselves. I feel sorry for her and agree that she's talented.

You'd better run pretty fast, lol. I agree Lindsay Lohan has terrible parents, but can't she use a little bit of common sense? Even people with bad parents wear underpants, show up to work on time, and don't hop in bed with anything that has two legs and a penis.

I don't know, when I was around her age, I partied all the time, went commando on a regular basis (too lazy to do laundry), slept with inappropriate people, hung out with inappropriate people, indulged in interesting substances and sometimes didn't show up for work or classes when I should have. I was young and didn't have paps running around exposing me for the irresponsible young person I was.

I've got to admit I've known people with perfectly lovely supportive parents who have done far worse than she has. I was the black sheep for having the not-so-good upbringing, and not sleeping around/doing drugs/ dropping out of school. She just doesn't have Momma to slap her back into place, and it's all about setting limits. Until she sets them herself (which hopefully she will do) or gets the slap down from her colleagues, it's all about seeing what you can get away with.
Boy do I feel old saying that

YOu have a point but it's easier to keep your head on straight when half the world isn't blowing smoke up your ass and trying to make money off you. I, of course, straightened myself in good time and have no regrets about my well-spent, mis-spent youth. Hopefully the same will happen with La Lohan.

Is this Jane's discreet way of saying that she thinks Dina is not doing her job as a parent? I like the way these stars are speaking out about Lindsay's lack of discipline. Maybe Dina will finally realize that her daughter has a problem and that she either needs to buckle down and talk to Lindsay like a mature adult instead of a coke buddy about her behavior, or, if she's unable/unwilling to give Lindsay the support and help that she needs, find someone (or some place) who can.

Nah, this is Jane's way of desperately trying to hang onto her own celebrity. She is old and grasping at any movie role or scandal or notoriety she can get her hands on.
Pitiful woman. She can serve Lindsay as a good role model of what not to be.....she, too, used to be a partying whore.....I guess it takes one to know one?.....

Amen. I worry that Lindsay will self-destruct.

It's Lindsay's life, she can continue to do what she wants. Hell, I encourage it. It gives me something to talk about. And I'm sure it will make for an awesome "tell all" book in 20 years or so filled with drugs, sex, endless stints in rehab, etc. Can't wait.

Not that I'm on LiHo's side, but Jane Fonda is certaily not the one to be talking with all the shit she pulled back in the day.

What a slam against Lindsay's immature cokehead party-animal of a mother, Dina. Awesome! Yay, Jane! What Jane is saying is true. I'm no big Lindsay sympathasizer, but she really is all "alone"; she has no appropriate parental guidance and hasn't for a while, if ever, it seems.

The thing about LL is that she's not terribly interesting. She's not really very smart, she's not well spoken and she really doesn't do fame well. To me, she's basically a kid who got a break and then made a lot of money which allowed her to make bad choices. She's not interesting in the least (and I only clicked on this thread because I'm totally bored at lunch)

EXACTLY. Or maybe if she actually gave a shit she should have pulled LL aside and said these things to her instead of speaking out in public...
