Hmm.. she was on the View yesterday and flat out denied ever dating him, she said they have been friends for a few years. She also said the "love" statement in PEOPLE was fabricated.
However, when stars deny, I have to think it is true.. LOL
IMO it was a planted story in the tabloids from creepy Joe to drum up press for Jessica since 'coincidentally' her album dropped last week.

Sorry, but I don't see how anyone would want to be with her. Between her creepy father and the stupid show that showed the 'real' her, her looks would only carry her so far. I'm sure this is what John Mayer concluded too.

Totally agree...I think Jessica Simpson has ZERO appeal. Trashy & cheesy-looking, bad fashion sense, seemingly unintelligent, a pervert for a father, no talent....  Like i & other people said when it came out that Mayer & Messica were dating, he was probably just with her for the sex. John Mayer has always seemed IMO to be an intelligent, witty guy...So like you said, what the heck would he see in cheesy bimbo Messica? So, he got some sex, didn't take things with her seriously at all, but obviously she did, and so he bolted when she and/or "her people" (i.e. PervertPapaJoe) were making it sound like it was a serious relationship & that Jessica "loved" him. I don't blame Mayer for running for his life! Oh and calling her "desperate" in the process!--Love it!
I'm enjoying watching Messica's downward spiral, while Nick's star has been rising. I think that Messica thought she could "rid herself" of Nick who she probably thought was "holding her down" from bigger & better things, and that once free of him, her career would skyrocket even more and she'd be able to get any guy she wants... I think she (and mastermind PervertPapaJoe) made some major miscalculations, and so instead, she's been facing numerous reality checks! And Nick is the one whose career & lovelife are doing awesome. Just like with what's been happening with Parisite Hilton lately, Karma is a bitch, isn't it Messica!...

I remember reading articles where people close to Jessica said that Joe was telling her that Nick was holding her back and that she needed to be more sexual and more risque because flaunting her marriage was hurting her career. When in fact, her marriage was what MADE her career. I really believe Joe wanted her to become sexier not for her benefit but for his own pleasure.
