The pictures – reportedly protected by guards at a Kentucky printing press before the issue shipped – were shot by Annie Leibovitz at Cruise’s retreat in Telluride, Colorado, in late July. Suri’s proud parents were joined by Cruise’s adopted children, Connor, 11, and Isabella, 13, and 15 members of Holmes’ family, including dad Martin (who played golf with his future son-in-law).

During her five-day stay with the couple, writer Jane Sarkin learned that Cruise’s first date with Holmes was on April 18, 2005 – exactly one year before Suri was born. She also found out when Cruise later proposed to Holmes at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on June 17, 2005, the actor got down on one knee and recited a two-page poem that he had written.

As for Suri – whose name Cruise and Holmes plucked from a baby-naming book – Holmes says her intuition told her to expect a girl (“I was craving pink the whole nine months”). Holmes also confesses that she reads gossip about her family: “It’s really frustrating the amount of s—t that’s out there.”

In fact, both parents confess their bewilderment over the “Where’s Suri?” question that dominated headlines for months. “We were always going to release a photo,” Cruise says. Holmes adds, “We weren’t trying to hide anything.”

I still don't believe this "Suri" is the spawn of The Mighty Midget's seed. And I still don't believe KatIE Holmes was ever pregnant. Nope. I don't.

I saw the VF cover on the news. Suri is cute. Full head of hair. They are looking down at her, Suri is looking at the camera. Whatever the story is, I looked at her and said she's a person. She's got a life to live. Maybe she'll be the queen of Scientology.

Two page poem?!?!?! This rabid midget is so freaking out of touch with reality he thinks that pretending to propose with a two page poem atop the eiffel tower is a good thing. And that freaking baby looks weird to me. I think if everyone here at GR chips in a dollar, we could get their dna on the down low and pay for a paternity test.
