Janet Jackson piles on 2 stone in a year

"JANET Jackson's career may be in the doldrums but she's still a big star... a VERY big star.

Janet, 39, was spotted being put through her paces on Redondo Beach, California, after gaining several stone in just 12 months. The singer was virtually unrecognisable in a baggy pink sweatshirt and grey jogging bottoms. Her career has taken a nose-dive since her "wardrobe malfunction" at last year's Superbowl when she flashed her bare breast to a global audience during a duet with Justin Timberlake.

As a result of the nipple-baring outcry her last album Damita Jo, released just a few weeks after the incident, floundered.

The stress of brother Michael's court case is also thought to have led to her piling on the pounds.

Now Janet will be hoping it's easier to shift the extra pounds than it has been to shift her CDs."

Her weight has always fluctuated up and down. I remember hearing that she suffered from depression which caused her to overeat, but then she'd work out like a maniac before her tours to get back into amazing shape.

I'm sure all this news about her supposed secret child has not helped her overall mental state.

Probably from her messed up childhood. Talk about compensating with food.

^ You're probably right, but it's strange that she gains and loses 30 lbs. every other year. When she's toned, she looks great, but when she's not in training she totally lets herself go. It's bizarre. On the other hand, at least she's not doing drugs or becoming an alcoholic (as far as we know...).
