Brad Pitt's parents flew into Los Angeles from Missouri in order to celebrate King Maddox's special day. Mrs. Pitt was shocked and offended when she witnessed Angelina Jolie get drunk at her own son's party. Angie's mother was also there along with Zahara and Shiloh. Angie barely talked to Mrs. Pitt and spent more time at the open bar.
A source said: "They were the only ones not drinking and it was uncomfortable for them. To Jane, drinking is unhealthy, and she thought Angelina was intoxicated.
"Things were very tense that weekend, and they left with an even worse impression of Angelina than before. They think she is tactless and doesn't consider other peoples feelings."
Mrs. Pitt was so disgusted that she left Los Angeles that day and headed home.
Um, she was drinking because her relationship is falling apart! Duh! Besides getting drunk at a kid's party is very glamorous. I have fond memories of seeing my mother sloshed as she tried to cut the cake and work the pinata. Nothing says "Happy 4th Birthday" like slurring words and drunken dancing.

Um, speaking as a mother who has thrown birthday parties, I can tell you that it's almost necessary to get completely klobbered. Makes it tolerable.

Well, as far as getting drunk, I haven't gotten blotto at the kiddies parties but I certainly have knocked back one or two. If this is true (which I doubt) and Mrs. Pitt thinks drinking is unhealthy then any drinking would be considered wrong. So Angelina probably wouldn't be able to win either way. But basically, I think the story is the usual bullshit from 'unnamed sources'. Probably Jen's pals.

Sounds like Mrs Pitt would benefit from a few Highballs herself....perhaps it's time to lighten up eh?? If she knew what Jennifer was (allegedly) up to...it'd send her to an early grave.

Well, I'm not uptight, but I wouldn't have an open bar at a kiddie party. And if Brad's parents made it a point to travel there for Maddox's birthday, AJ could have tried to be sociable ... she has a kid with their son ... it wouldn't kill her to be polite.

I really think this another one of those unsourced articles that are basically bullshit. Probably the only thing true in the whole article is that his parents flew in for the party.

I agree...And for some reason, i can imagine this story being true. I could see Angelina being rude & acting all superior/acting "above them" to Brad's parents. Angelina seems to have a major "chip on her shoulder" & an air of superiority, which usually covers up underlying insecurity (remember this is the same woman who was a heroin addict, had self-admitted suicidal tendencies, spent time in a mental hospital, etc. only 6 or 7 years ago--and people don't ever completely change)--which i could see her taking out on Brad's poor parents who are known to still be close with Jen.

Drinking is fine, as long as you don't have a problem with alcohol and you don't go over your limit. That said, an open bar a child's birthday party is asking for trouble. A bunch a sloshed adults supervising children is stupid. Could be true though...Brad doesn't seem to be known for his brain power and decision making skills.

jane sounds like an uptight dry old cunt.
the only reason any adult in their right mind would stick around at a kid's bday party is if there are drinks going around.

There was another article in one of the weeklys. The drinking was a part of it but, supposedly, Jane and the Pitts were more offended that Angie ignored them for the duration of the party.
Eh, I can believe some of this. I don't see that Angie's the type to get sloshed at a kids party but then again, she's been on some serious shit before so who knows. It might not be a big deal to her. If Jane is upset about 1-2 drinks, she does need to loosen up. However, she seems to totally wear the pants in that family and for that, I applaud her.

I don't see anything wrong w/her having a few cocktails, if you've ever had a baby, you'd know that sometimes, it really helps. At least I did.
But she shouldn't have ignored the Pitts, if that was the case. They flew all that way, you can be cordial for christs sake. Even if your smashed.

Somehow, I think the DListed author is right, even if it was a joke. If she's drinking at her kid's birthday party AND ignoring Brad's parents, something in that relationship is wrong.
Well, if the story's even true, that is.
