Nicollette Sheridan slams Paris Hilton burger commerical
Quote:
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN has called for PARIS HILTON to be "fried" for her "tacky and classless" TV commercial for fast food chain Carl's Jr.
Late last year (04), Sheridan sparked an onslaught of complaints when she shed her towel in a racy American football commercial. The outcry prompted network bosses to apologise.
But Sheridan is disgusted that she was subjected to such a huge backlash while Hilton's ad - which featured the bikini-clad hotel heiress provocatively hosing down a car and eating a burger - was allowed to stay on the air.
She tells Maxim magazine, "It was amazing that for two weeks it was on CNN and all the news channels. If this was something they were upset by, why play it over and over?
"It was ridiculous and a sad commentary on America. The NFL moment was done with humour. It was like a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE skit! If America is so freaked out by a couple of shoulder blades - give me a break. Such a double standard.
"You look at that commercial Paris Hilton did... I found it dirty. I'm not a prude, but I didn't like it. It was tacky and classless. If you had a small child, you'd be much more offended by that commercial than the one I did. Let's fry Paris Hilton, shall we?"

Paris Hilton didn't have a "sex" scene
with a black man in her commercial, did she?
I didn't think so.
(That was the real issue beneath all the outrage
behind the Terrell Owens commercial, IMO.)

I never saw the Nicollette commercial, but I did see the one that Paris did, and she's right- there is no way in hell I would let my children watch that. It WAS offensive, not to mention stupid and unimpressive. She wasn't sexy, just scummy.

The Carl Jr. advertisment was great! She looked hot, the burger looked hot and it legitimately made me want to go to Carl Jr. and get a burger..
People r just so easily offended these days, just because Paris is washing a car in a bikini in a commercial its like "ooh, don't let the kids see this" but like kids watch mtv/vh1 and its like britney, christina, jessica half naked all day long..
Dirrty, Slave 4 U, isn't that shit offensive then?

Absolutely! Offensive to children.
I'm not easily offended, when it's something thats for adults only. In fact I like to be downright raunchy when its me and my friends.
BUT, when my kids are watching TV, they don't need to see that BS that poses as a "burger commercial".

I saw Nicolette's commercial and some of Paris'. Frankly, I didn't understand all the hoopla over Nicolette's. It wasn't that racy or even suggestive.

I agree, people made a big deal out of Nicolette's commercial that was suppose to be shown only ONCE...Paris, on the other hand, was seductively eating a burger (even though her body would show otherwise) in a commercial that was going to be shown over and over again.
While I am not a prude, I think that there are a lot of commercials that have so many gratuitous body shots. I don't think that EVERYTHING has to be about sex.

I think that's a valid point. Imagine if that Paris Hilton
commercial -- her pose in the black dental-floss non-bikini --
were on a billboard, down the street from your kids' school.
Non-stop. Larger than life, so passing drivers could almost
see her labia. Is that not imposing on the public in an
unsuitable way?
(And remember, I've watched The Unbearable Lightness of Being
more often than I've seen Star Wars, so I don't think I'm a prude
either.)

it pisses me off how prudish ( i may have just made that word up ) America is becoming...just because some dumbass parents don't know how to turn the channel when something " too adult " comes on tv when their young kids are watching...they take it out on everyone else when they catch their kids watching boobies on HBO when they should just smack their kids and ground them from the tv.
