William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
Quote:
Veteran character actor William H. Macy says he respects Lindsay Lohan's talent
– but not her behavior.
"You can't show up late," Macy, 56, told reporters Thursday at a Los Angeles
junket promoting his new movie, Everyone's Hero. "It's very, very
disrespectful."
Macy, who shares a scene with Lohan, 20, in the upcoming Emilio Estevez-directed
drama Bobby, called the actress a "huge talent," but echoed the sentiments
expressed in a letter sent to her recently by a studio chief who blasted her
work ethic.
The letter came from James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, which
is producing Lohan's film Georgia Rule. Macy's wife, Felicity Huffman, also
stars in the movie.
"I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late,
150 people have been scrambling to cover for you," Macy told reporters Thursday.
"There is not an apology big enough in the world to have to make 150 people
scramble. It's nothing but disrespect. And Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A
lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's
inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked."
When asked about Lohan's work on Bobby, Macy paused and said, "She was pretty
late."
He added, "I worry about these young kids – 15, 18, 20 years old – who in
the span of one year become millionaires and powerhouses. It's too much power
for a kid that age to handle."
Macy, who has starred in films including Fargo and The Cooler, also defended his
Magnolia costar Tom Cruise – recently bashed for his own behavior – as "not
late."
A rep for Lohan was not immediately available for comment.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lohan for being disrespectful
I love William H. Macy...now that's an actor!! Lindsay Lohan is a spoiled twat who thinks she's the shit. He had every right to say what he said...it is very disrespectful and unprofessional to make everyone wait, while you recover from your hangover.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
I love it how these pampered arrogant Hollywood stars who think the world revolves around them & display bad behavior (TomThumb & Blowhan) are suddenly being called out for their bad behavior. And William H. Macy rocks!

He is so right! It really is extremely pathetic & disrespectful, when you really think about it, that some dumbass spoiled little Hollywood b*tch would cause major inconvenience for 150 people because she partied too hard the night before! (and the night before that, and the night before that... ) I mean, for example, it mentions how Macy's wife, Felicity Huffman, is also in the film. Those two have two young children. I'd be pretty damn pis*ed off too, if i had to stand around waiting, wasting extra time, precious time that i could be using to do something useful, just because Blowhan was too tired to drag her haggard hungover ass to work. --I mean, they have kids, A LIFE, to get home to! (Like the other 150 people that Blowhan majorly inconviences with her disrespectful pathetic behavior.) I hope more & more people tell Blowhan to f*ck off--and tell her haggard leathery-skinned slutty mother who is always making up excuses for her daughter's bad behavior, to f*ck off too.

I love that quote! Macy has class--I'm sure he said that in a "deadpan" way--meaning, through the subtext, that Blowhan was VERY late.
Useless spoiled bee-yotch. Hopefully she feels like a sh*thead & is apologetic (though somehow i highly doubt it--as i write this, she's probably on eightball #142 of the day, and just getting started, and will call in sick tomorrow claiming some new lameass excuse).

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
Most of what he says is correct. I just find there is a hint of jealousy with respect to her and other being millionaires at a very young age. Macy although recognized as a very good actor probably did not make his first million until his forties IMO.

I see what you are saying Warren. (Yes, a person that's made millions of dollars before age 20 is, i would have to admit, someone that some people might be a bit jealous of.). But I do not see that being the case here. William H. Macy is a 50-something-year-old, happily married, Oscar-nominated, millionaire himself, male, with 2 children. I don't see him being "jealous" of screwed-up little 19-year-old Blowhan who's young enough to be his daughter, if not his granddaughter. Usually people are jealous of people that are at least in the same gender and/or age bracket, etc. as themself. For example: Paris Hilton.--Now THERE is someone that is jealous of Blowhan.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
^^True. Macy has been a well-respected professional for ages now. Everywhere you look, you'll find people have nothing but nice things to say about him, even normal plebes who have encountered him (and his wife) in real life. I don't think jealousy is a factor at all here. I think he was just making an astute observation about the dynamic of sudden fame at an early age.
It speaks volumes about how much Lindsay has pissed people off that even he had something to say about it--probably spurred by the fact that his wife was one of the many directly inconvenienced because of it, of course.

I think jealous is maybe to strong a word then. I believe he may believe he had to work a lot harder to get where he is then, the young blowhan. Sometimes even though you are not the same age or in the same point in life as the person he or she is commenting on, their could be a feeling of resentment because how easy it may have been for someone else. Trust me I am not defending Blowhan, I am just trying to analyze where Macy is coming from.
Sure Macy may be an Oscar nominated actor, I guarantee you half the board here may not be able to name 4 movies he has been in. And recognition means money in the entertainment industry. Macy is a great character actor but he is the same mold as a Harvey Keitel. We see him everywhere, just not don't remember where. That all being said, skill does not always translate into cash. Wow, i think I have may have journeyed off topic a bit.

I agree, Beeyotch (love that username! ). I do think Macy was doing nothing more than making an observation & commenting on an issue that's been in the news & making waves in Hollywood & which DIRECTLY affected not only him, but, as you pointed out HIS WIFE. And like i said above, since they have 2 young children, i could see where the two of them would be amoung the members of that film set that would be ESPECIALLY pis*ed off about having to spend extra wasted time hanging around the set due to Blowhan's stupid antics. And like you also said, Macy seems like a nice, well-adjusted, happy guy. I don't see "jealousy" being an issue here at all. He just happens to be a cast member in the film in which Blowhan is in the headlines for acting unprofessionally on the set of it, and so of course he was asked by some reporter to comment. And i commend him for being honest, instead of the usual fake gushing praise for fellow stars that usually comes spewing out of celebrities' mouths.

Warren- IMO, Macy strikes me as a happy, satisfied guy. And he's had a career that may not have been as yet filled with "blockbuster" movies, but he's had instead what (in many peoples' opinions is actually better in the long run)--a RESPECTED career in quality movies, and even an Oscar nomination or two. Plus an Emmy-winning wife who makes millions herself. I can't even imagine William H. Macy being jealous of little Blowhan, since they aren't even "peers" on any level, in any way, shape, or form. Heehee yup i think you "may have journeyed off topic a bit", Warren. And i think you're over-analyzing where Macy is coming from. He was just commenting on a topic that's in the news that he happens to be personally involved in & he voiced his opinion. I think that's all there is to it, IMO. (As an aside, now that i think about it, since it's 2:30 a.m. and i am writing lengthy posts about this Blowhan issue, i must be "over-analyzing" this too Warren!--YIKES. )

Lindsay's a tard to think she's famous for anything more than being a hot piece of jailbait and that can't hold up much longer.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
I love William Macy and I like that fact that despite calling her out on her behavior he also gives her kudos for her talent. I think the girl has the talent to go far and have a long career, as long as she stays away from the blow. Oh, and ditches the wanna-be-celebrity hanger-on of a mother. Ok, it is her mother but La Lohan should keep her mother at a distance when it comes to career and socializing. No 20-year-old's mother should be out partying with her until the crack of dawn.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
William H. Macy is a gifted actor and consummate professional, so anything he says should be taken seriously. Lindsay Lohan--please. She may be talented, but there are plenty of talented actresses who don't show up late, make excuses, and generally make asses of themselves. I am so ready for the Lindsay saga to come to an end.

Re: William H Macy blasts Lindsay Lohan for being disrespectful
I love Macy, his roles always vary and he does the characters to a T. I LOVED him in 'Happy, Texas' and 'Boogie Nights'. 'Fargo' is a great movie and he was excellent but being from that particular area, the accents drove me crazy
Now let's see, what memorable roles has Lohan played........hmmm.....thinking........oh God, my brain is gonna combust
Lindsay REALLY needs to wise the hell up before her career goes down the crapper.
