Kate Hudson pulls out of the You, Me and Dupree premiere

KATE HUDSON has reportedly pulled out of the London premiere of new movie YOU, ME AND DUPREE tonight (22AUG06) to recover from her much-publicised marriage breakdown. The ALMOST FAMOUS star announced she was separating from THE BLACK CROWES singer CHRIS ROBINSON last Monday (14AUG06), after nearly six years of marriage. Now British newspaper the Daily Star reports she'll shun the Leicester Square opening of her comedy to come to terms with the split and avoid awkward questions from paparrazzi. A source says, "It's obviously a shame but I'm sure her fans will understand and give her their support through what must be a difficult time." OWEN WILSON and MATT DILLON also star in the movie about an unwelcome house guest.

Maybe she was ashamed of the movie. It was terrible.

On a side note, do these stars really have "fans?" Sure, there are probably people who like her work or think she's cute/funny etc, but are there really people out there who'd start Kate Hudson clubs?

God forbid she even stand near Owen Wilson. I, for one, do not believe that these two are getting it on. Though she doesn't go for looks obviously, so I guess it's certainly a possibility. It's all a bit too convienent for me...

I know shes going through a difficult time, but its not fair on fans when she doesn't show up.

I totally agree! The premier is a part of her job and it's wrong of her to allow her personal problems overshadow her obligations. How many millions did she make for this picture and she can't walk the red carpet, even with publicist in hand? I like Kate Hudson, but this was cowardly.

Yeah, it's like her "fans" are supposed to support and understand her, while she doesn't give them the time of day, let alone support and understand the fact that they're waiting to see her.

It's not like real fans show up for premieres anyways...I remember reading an article where they said they hire student actors from UCLA and nearby universities to stand around at premieres.
