Pink Defends Gibson

Pop punk Pink is the latest celebrity to jump to the defence of disgraced actor Mel Gibson, insisting he should be forgiven for making anti-Semitic remarks.
The Braveheart star shocked the world when he launched a verbal attack on the police officer who arrested him for drink-driving last month (Jul06).

But the Stupid Girl singer urges people to accept Gibson's judgement was impaired by alcohol
She says, "I'm a fan of his work. I think anybody with opinions like that needs well-wishing.
"And I'm Jewish. Alcohol makes you do crazy things."

She has Lithuanian Jewish blood on her mom's side, but doesn't really follow any religion.

Being drunk does not make you an anti semitic twat, he's been one of those all along, it merely removes your inhibitions to say so. I don't think Mel is going to get off the hook on this one.

I think its pretty freakin hilarious..... all of it. Since when does bad publicity do anything but make the person sell more of whatever Crap they are selling?? Before he made the passion of the christ who cared what he believed?? I think most celebrities are pretty strange or why would they have the need to be famous??? Why would anyone listen to them??? We are not talking Mother Theresa we are talking about people who make movies.....

It's one thing to forgive but quite another to defend IMO. Mel's racist and sexist drunken rants can not be excused because of alcohol.

I don't think I care as much when people who have worked with him or knew him try and defend what he did, but why should Pink even care besides to try to get attention from the press in a way that won't violate any laws.

However, I do enjoy how every article about her includes the phrase "stupid girl."

Ok-people-I don't care what any of you think-DRUNK people-especially in pain-say all sorts of things that are LIES, untruths, have no basis in fact. Do you know how many men have told me they loved me while drunk? Do you know how many I have told the same thing? Drunk people-and addicts in general-I have been in rehab over 20 times-top that-say all sorts of nonsensical bullshit. As a former drug abuser, Pink knows that.
