Hey everybody! i am in the airport right now using one of those overpriced compuers buti wanted to blog my ending.

The final night was a lot of fun. I was 2nd runner up in dress rehearsals and that was a great feeling! The final show was very exciting and so many of the girls wanted to win. So we go out there dance our hearts out then after about 15 mintes the top 15 was called out.

I am going to be honest, i kind of thought i had a pretty good chance at getting in the top 15 and was disappointed when i was not called out but what happend when i walked off stage SURPRISED the daylights out of me. So many of the girls were completly devastated. 1 state which shall not be name was acting like a 4 year old kicking and screaming like a lunatic. I was so embarassed. My roommate and i both didnt make the cut and we made the best of it by calling our friends for support, NOT CRYING, helping the other girls and rooting for North Dakota (who really desearved the crown, out of the top 5 she is the only one that is A TRUE role model.)

After the pageant all of the girls had a lot of fun at the coronation ball. I was so tired so i left the coronation ball at about 9 30 and hung out with kentuckyupstairs and watched a movie. I was amazed by the fact thataout 20 of the contestants, some of the MUO staff and the majority of the teleast judges decided to go back to Drake (one of the judges)'s hotel room (in a diff hotel) and get compltely wasted, drunk, high and anything else you can do. I waas was so worried and i called my director who repeatedly told me it couldnt be true but the fact is the girls cameback with hangovers and the few sober ones came back with a tainted image of the MUO. I personally will never look at the system the same way and will strongly caution parents when putting their daughters in this pageant specifically because of last night. Everyone was mortified by the event and manyof the chaperones and contestants who support the role model image of the pageant were greatly hurt. Another thing that was upsetting is that many of the judges told the girls after many drinks that they were told to show up, look interested, pretend to vote then wait till after the pageant to find an upset girl to get lucky with. I dont think the pageant is fixed but the fact that the judges told the girls that was very upsetting.

My overall experience at Miss Teen USA was so wonderful and i made so many memories and friends and i feel horrible right now that i am letting some stupid drunken judges and MUO members ruin my experience (and stoned MUO employees). I will always try to look back on this as a fun summer camp that i spent with many great girls.

The winner is great and i think she will make the MUO happy. She is spunky and fresh and has a great look. If the MUO can train Tara to speak with out an accent then they can defintely teach MT the definition of integrity.:-)

In other news:

The girls are bitchy to each other and like to make up eating disorder rumors:

At dinner we were all very tired and VERY hungry. Unfortunetly rumors of girls having eating disorders are going around and that was making dinner a little awkward. It kind of makes me angry because people like Alaska and New York eat more than anyone here but some of the girls still give them crap for being skinny when they are just naturally like that. Their faces dont look sick at all and i wish the girls talking about them would see that. THEY ARENT SICK! Well i went to bed pretty early last night because i was so tired from our practice and right now i have to go take a shower so i can be at breakfast on time.

Girls gave their phone numbers to D-List celebrities:

Last night we went to a pool party and a few semi-celebrity boys showed up for our entertainment. It was funny because most of the girls were acting like they have never seen a boy before. Personally i thought meeting Ethan Craft and Matt Maguire was pretty cool but i failed to ever call them by their real names. Unfortunetly some of the girls gave out their phone number and other personal information and some of the staff as well as the other girls found that extremely inappropriate. Maybe next time something like that happens well all be aware to keep that info. to ourselves. Fortunetly my standards are insanely high for boys and i find a reason to never give my number out. Humph! i think my dad is proud of that because he never has to worry.

And things were catty:

I was informed that some of the girls are beginning to get a little catty and some have been having some roommate problems, i am very lucky to not be one of those girls. I love my maine.

This 'news' is hardly surprising. Most people associated with the pageant world (from the contestants to the judges to the organizers) are the most superficial and hypocritical bunch of people you could ever have the misfortune of meeting. Pure wholesome innocence? I don't think so... most of them go on to pose for Playboy for a reason.

I BET CHILDREN'S BEAUTY PAGEANTS ARE EXACTLY LIKE THIS, FILLED WITH LEERING OLD MEN, KIDS PAINTED UP TO LOOK LIKE WHORES AND BACK-ALLEY DRUG DEALING.
