Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Too Busy To Watch Kids
By Mike Baron
Aug 15, 2006
With two famous parents constantly in demand by a fawning public and greedy press, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly decided it would be easier to take the tots to daycare than leave them home with mom.
Word has it in a Page Six story that Brad Pitt has begun dropping off his and Jolie's adopted son and daughter, Maddox and Zahara, at the studio's regular old day care center every day while he goes a-filming his "Ocean's 13" flick.
Is this their way of making sure the kids have a "normal" life? Whatever happened to raising your kids yourself, especially when you're a gazillionaire?
According to their source, "The workers at the day-care center are very protective of Brad and won't let any of the other parents approach him or talk to him."
Then why is he taking his kids to an open daycare center?

I dunno on this one. I think these days it's very normal to take your kids to a daycare center. Just about every single one of my couple friends with children utilize a day care. Just because you're a gazillionaire doesn't mean that you don't want to continue to work.

It is actually good for the older kids to get time with other kids at the lot daycare. Maddox needs some pre-school since he is now old enough (I think) to start kindergarten. I know he went to a pre-school before they left for Africa last spring. Zahara is old enough too. Shiloh isn't there just yet.
I like it that they are using the lot daycare. Many stars will only use the finest private preschools where their kids play only with other celebrity kids. The lot daycare has kids there whose parents work in all fields and from varied socio-economic levels.

I couldn't wait for my husband to take our older kid to the daycare when I had my son. It can be so loud and chaotic sometimes it's nice for the break. MAd and Z can play with other kids and have fun themselves.

I hate saying nice things about these two. HATE IT. However, I will say I think it's a good idea for the older kids to be around other kids for social reasons. Shiloh is different because she's so young. If I had tons of money, I'd probably do the same thing....stay home with the baby and have the kids do fun stuff with other kids for a day or two a week.

Sounds like the kids are going to "school" every day like millions of "normal" kids and playing, running around, socializing, and learning early-reading math etc.
I think the parents are doing okay. Why keep them locked up in a celebrity fishbowl? let them go to school too!

I don't see anything wrong with them putting the kids in daycare.

ITA. Neither do most people who do it on a daily basis.
