Brandy Dismisses First Marriage

R+B star-turned-TV host Brandy Norwood insists her first marriage to producer Robert Smith didn't really exist - because she wasn't truly in love.

The singer was wed to Smith, the father of her daughter Sy'rai, for almost two years before they divorced in 2003, but, in her mind, it wasn't a proper marriage.

Brandy tells Ok! Weekly magazine that if she weds again she feels like it would be "for the first time".

She explains, "I say the first time because I think when I really fall in love, it'll be a different experience... I think true marriage is the bond between two people."

And the soul star insists her next wedding ceremony won't be shrouded in secrecy like the first time she exchanged vows.

She adds, "I'd announce it and do the whole wedding thing."

Brandy also dismisses rumours she's dating her dumped fiance, basketball player Quentin Richardson, after helping him cope with the shooting death of this brother last Christmas.

She insists she isn't currently in a relationship and has no plans to fall in love soon: "I'm not really looking."

Uhm I thought they were never legally married. Didn't they just SAY they were married because he got her pregnant and Brandy didn't want to ruin her image or something?

^ Yes, I recalled she made a statement that "while they were never legally married, they had a ‘spiritual union and a true commitment to each other”.

I remember that too. He denied they were married and she got all huffy about it.

On a side note, I don't like this chick. She's been on that awful America's Got Talent show and she's such a cheap imitation of Paul Abdul. Will wonders never cease? I can't believe I just said that.

Yeah I remember something like that. I guess bullshitting herself is an easier way for her to deal with her fuck ups than accepting the truth. Spritual union my ass. More like he 'spirited' himself right out the door when the responsibility came knocking and it wasn't fun anymore. Maybe she shouldn't have been such a sucker.

What a bunch of nonsensical hogwash!!! She's already admitted that she was never really married! --I seem to remember something along the lines of: "While it's true that Robert & I were never truly married in the technical sense, we did have a spiritual union." or some babbling desperate-attempt-to-cover-her-previous-lies crap like that. So what the heck is this woman babbling about here? There was no "first marriage", Brandy, you already admitted this!

I hate it when celebrities treat the public like we're stupid.

I can not stand her. I remember her backpeddling when she got busted for lying about being married. and it was such a lame lie-she must have hired the Warren Commission-single bullet, spirtual union her nappy weave!
