Madonna gives up on her movie career
MADONNA ABANDONS MOVIE CAREER
MADONNA has begrudgingly turned her back on her movie career, because she is convinced the media is hell bent on ensuring her film projects are flops. The LIKE A VIRGIN singer was lauded for her performance in the big screen adaptation of the musical EVITA, but she has suffered a string of flops, most notably BODY OF EVIDENCE and SWEPT AWAY, her last movie role directed by husband GUY RITCHIE, which failed to secure a cinema release. And the 47-year-old, who is currently in the midst of her Confessions world tour, will concentrate solely on her music career from now on. She says, "I hate to admit it, but I've decided to give that up. "How can any film survive if everyone says it's going to be a flop from the very day the project is even conceived? "It's already dead in the water."

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
I'm gonna state the obvious, obligatory comment:
What movie career?

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
America thanks you Madonna.
If you could act, it might not be a flop.

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
It's only fair that Madonna gives up her award winning movie career - it'll give other actresses a chance to win a Razzie...

That's actually false, it was released to theatres. It just lasted about a week

I wondered what that cheering was for... and now I know. Madonna has seen the light...

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
I gave up on her movie career after Shanghai Surprise, and that was her first starring role. She should have done the same.

I loved her in Evita- she played a woman whoring her way to the top who loved power and money...

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
I didn't mind Desperately Seeking Susan, I didn't even mind Madonna herself back then. But Swept Away was really bad.

Agreed. The only thing she was worth seeing in (not hearing, cos she can't sing either) was "Dick Tracy", but then if some of Al Pacino's genius hadn't rubbed off on her during that project she would have been an even bigger self important idiot than I already thought she is.

Re: Modonna gives up on her movie career
Holy Shit. There might just be a God after all!
Love how she blames the media and everything else under the sun for her shitty movies. Like it couldn't possibly have anything to do with her.

Why did you have the vow of silence Ourman? Was wondering where you've been... GR missed you.
