Ashlee Simpson Makes Marie Claire Mad

Ashlee Simpson has been blasted by the Marie Claire magazine, after the singer talked about how she believed in accepting body flaws only weeks before undergoing cosmetic surgery.

In the July issue of the women's magazine, a pre-nose job Simpson declared, "Everyone is made differently, and that's what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident."

In the time between the cover interview taking place and publication, Simpson underwent a rhinosplasty operation at a Los Angeles clinic on April 21 and has since had long blonde hair extensions.

After the interview was published, over 1,000 readers wrote to the magazine in protest, and Simpson has been featured on dozens of blogs, being lambasted as a hypocrite.

The magazine's new editor, Joanne Coles -- who just replaced Lesley Jane Seymour, the editor in charge at the time of Simpson's interview -- writes in the September issue, "We're dazed and confused -- and disappointed -- by her choice, too."

First mistake of this magazine was to even interview Ashlee. After that all bets are off.

i hate celebs who flap their gums about natural beauty & then get ps done. it's one of my pet peeves.

Marie Claire should be mad at themselves for lowering their standards to have this fake, no-talent in their mag & on the cover.

If they want to save face they should re-interview her and ask her to explain the difference between her words and her actions. I have no problem with her getting her nose done, just don't be a hypocrite about it.

Marie Claire features models/celebs who've had plastic surgery in their mag all the time - they're just irritated that they've gotten some backlash. Ashlee being a big hypocrite is on her.

Me too. And what really pisses me off is when they lie about it. Who cares if you had plastic surgery. The only reason they dont admit to it is because its good to be 'natural'.

Ashlee Simpson is just full of shit. I dont read Marie Claire, but I saw her being interviewed on tv after her makeover and she said, "Life is short, and whatever makes you feel beautiful and sexy, you should do it".
