FemaleFirst.com is reporting that JLO is out of the upcoming Dallas remake. Travolta will be JR!

JENNIFER LOPEZ has abruptly quit the much-anticipated big screen remake of classic 1970s show DALLAS.

The MAID IN MANHATTAN actress was set to star opposite JOHN TRAVOLTA - who will play JR EWING - as his alcoholic wife SUE ELLEN.

SHIRLEY MacLAINE is in talks to star as Ewing family matriarch MISS ELLIE and LUKE WILSON is rumoured to be taking on the role of BOBBY EWING.

Lopez's representative LESLIE SLOANE ZELNICK confirms to American publication Star, "She is out of Dallas."

This isn't the first report of trouble regarding the film - earlier this year (06), LEGALLY BLONDE director ROBERT LUKETIC quit the project citing "creative differences" and was reportedly unhappy with casting choices.

BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM director GURINDER CHADHA is now attached to direct the film.

The role of LUCY EWING has also been the subject of much speculation, with many of Hollywood's top young actresses vying for the part including JESSICA SIMPSON, LINDSAY LOHAN and KRISTIN CAVALLARI. The role ultimately went to 19-year-old KATIE CASSIDY, who stars in the US family drama 7th HEAVEN.

It's probably the best career move she's ever made in her lame career because that movie seriously looks like it's going to suck. I'm sure the tabloids will say she pulled out of it because she's pregnant...

Thank God. JLo could never be Sue Ellen.

I think casting is all wrong for this. Luke Wilson as Bobby? Come on. I think Nick Lachey would be a better Bobby than Luke.

Toppers was approached for the part of Cliff Barnes, after former Travolta co star Ron "Horshack" Pallilo turned it down .

Seriously though, I hope they pick Zeta Jones for Sue Ellen.

I read somewhere that Zeta Jones and someone else was making a movie about Lana Turner's murdered boyfriend....I believe it's going to be called 'Stompanato'...that she was playing the daughter who stabbed him...how stupid is that? The girl was 14 years old at the time...Catherine does NOT look 14, alright?!?!

It gets worse. The rumored Pam Ewing is Marcia Cross.

Also very tired of all of the remakes and sequels.

An interesting little bit of TV trivia: Brad Pitt started off his career playing 'Randy' back in 1988 in Dallas.

All these remakes are horrible. Soon they may make a "Saved by the Bell" movie. This lack of creativity in Hollywood has got to stop.
