Mel Gibson Turned Down Ride Home From Moonshadows Says Report --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Cyndi James
Jul 31, 2006
Before Mel Gibson was pulled over and arrested last Friday, he reportedly spent the evening at Moonshadows restaurant in Malibu drinking wine and visiting with patrons at the bar.
 Mel Gibson Mug Shot
In Touch Weekly has the report from Todd Hausberger of Phoenix who was at the restaurant and tells the weekly magazine, "Mel had bloodshot eyes," Hausberger tells In Touch.
"He was slurring his words."

In Touch has a photo posted on its web site with a credit of Todd Hausberger that shows Mel with his arm around two women with a bottle in his right hand. The actor appears to be having a good time.
By 2 a.m. Mel decided to hit the road.
"We all offered him rides and he shrugged it off," recalls Kimberly Lesak of Louisville, Ky. Police arrested Mel 36 minutes later for speeding and his blood-alcohol level was 0.12 - well above California's 0.08 legal limit.

Mel Goes to Rehab and mug shot released
Mel Gibson has sought treatment for alcoholism, his rep, Alan Nierob said on Monday.
"He definitely entered a program," said Nierob, who wouldn't identify or describe the program or say how long Gibson planned to be there.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has just released actor Mel Gibson's booking photo (above) from his early Friday morning arrest as well.

Dammit. That actually is not a bad mugshot at all for a DUI. They had to have let him get cleaned up and prepared and all though for him to look not horrible. Probably cause he is a celeb. I know my DUI mugshot was horrific! About the worst pic of me ever in my life.

Perhaps not, but he certainly wasn't cognizant of what he was saying and doing. Besides, even on your way to drunk is too drunk to get behind the wheel of a car!! Stupid idiot. His career is toast.

WTF? Where is your logic in that? Or Just because he has issues with jews and women he now hates blacks to? You need to get a grip...
He was way out of line and will be paying for it dearly for a long time, and rightly so. But JesusHChrist, lets put this in perspective people, he got busted for drunk driving and as a result showed the world he's an asshole, but there really is worse people out there...

^^Did you read the BI? If you did there were clues that pointed to Mel Gibson and it came out a little after the passion of the Christ. A lot of people speculated that it was Gibson but, it was never really solved. So I wasn't just pulling things out of thin air.
And I can't believe that you are tolerant of his behavior. It seems as though just because he's some famous movie star that people are giving him a break by saying "Oh he was drunk". I couldn't believe it when I saw the officer that arrested him who is also Jewish say that he never meant to ruin Gibsons career by making this thing public. No amount of racism should be tolerated. Yeah there are worst people out there but, it doesn't make bigotry and prejudice any less of a horrible disgraceful act.

I think it was higher but either way, they keep saying he said this stuff because he was so drunk and doesn't remember it, but if it wasn't all that high, then that argument doesn't hold up.

I never once said I was tolerant of his behavior! But the truth is Mel was an excellent entertainer in his prime, but that's all he was... an ENTERTAINER! People who worship and hang on every word of someone that plays a role for a living are deluding themselves if they think these stars are all made of sweetness and light. They are people just like you and me, some a re decent, some are racist, homophobic motherfuckers that you and I would never give the time of day to if we actually met them.
Put this in perspective folks, it's no huge surprise, there have been hints of his true personality for years, but he was an excellent actor and a lot of us can still appreciate that fact while realizing that as a person he is part of the lunatic fringe that most people abhor.

If it was a woman who offered a ride home he probably thought being busted going somewhere with another woman would have been worse than getting a DUI. Mel, we already knew you were a womanizer and your wife ain't going nowhere...now you have to do rehab and pretend you're going to actually give up drinking. You chose wrong. This will turn out to be the bigger pain the ass!
