Craig Stunned By Backlash

Jul 31, 2006New JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG has been stunned by the bitter backlash he has received since replacing PIERCE BROSNAN as the secret agent last year (05).
Craig, whose first appearance as James Bond will be in CASINO ROYALE, was disheartened when thousands of fans called on film-makers Eon to ditch him and bring back Brosnan - claiming the MUNICH star was "too ugly" for the role.
The 38-year-old star says, "I didn't expect this backlash. You take it in, you can't help it.
"I've been trying to give 110 per cent since the beginning but after all the fuss, maybe I started giving 115 per cent."

I don't think there is all that much of a backlash, it's just that most of us have decided we won't be watching one unsexy and fug James Bond.

He's no Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan, but I don't find him repulsive. He has a certain rough-hewn charm, and he's a good actor. I would have preferred Clive Owen -- he looks more the part.

He is not a conventionally handsome type, but he is sexy as hell to me. I think he will make Bond more believable.

I didn't think Craig would make a good Bond until I saw Layer Cake, no he's not conventionally handsome but he definitely had that bad boy sexiness going for him......but I agree Clive Owen would make the perfect Bond.

^hugh is fab!!!! craig's ok he doesn't bother me that much.
pierce is the one and only bond to me!!! he's gorgeous!!! <3<3<3 who cares if he's a bit on the older side, i still love him. so charming, and on his other roles he's fantastic as well he really has such a magnificent attitude.
