Default George Michael's partner calls off wedding

MICHAEL'S WEDDING CANCELED
Last updated: Tuesday, July 25, 2006

George Michael's long-term partner has called off their wedding.
The singer and his lover Kenny Goss were planning on sealing their love with a same-sex civil partnership on their tenth anniversary later this year.

However, since Michael was caught having gay sex with a jobless van driver in London's Hampstead Heath last week, the pair are said to be unsure about their commitment to one another.

A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "They are reassessing their relationship at the moment so there are no immediate plans."

"Things are very much up in the air."

"They do not feel that the wedding is relevant now."

Three months ago, Michael gushed to British television chat show host Michael Parkinson about his plans to "wed" his lover.

He cooed: "We will do it on our tenth anniversary. We'll probably do the formal thing then the party."

The singer - who was forced to admit he was homosexual after being arrested for flashing an undercover US police officer in 1998 - is not likely to face charges for last week's incident.

In Britain, sex in public is illegal if it is likely to be witnessed by a third party. However, a police spokesman revealed they are not planning on investigating Michael as he was not caught by an officer and no complaint had been made.

Would you marry someone who just got blown by a homeless man in a forest?

Dude has some issues he needs to work on before continuing with this relationship. I feel bad for his partner. What a betrayal.

Poor George. He needs to lay off the public places.

No friggin' kidding! I see years of therapy ahead of him, ideally, but I doubt he's ready to work on himself.

He has got to have some sort of sick sexual addiction. Kenny needs to kick his ass to the curb and Boy George needs some therapy.

Sounds like George Michael's fiance made a good decision. For all the talk about their open relationship maybe even the fiance was grossed out by the idea of Georgie making out in the bushes with some pickup. By the way, I saw a pic of the fiance, and he is not bad-looking.

This is an interesting article from 2004 (rainbownetwork.com) .............. it explains a few things........

George Michael's boyfriend is said to have checked out of an Arizona clinic where he was being treated for alcohol addiction.
Kenny Goss agreed to get help after George pleaded with him to get treatment.
A close friend of the celebrity couple told the News of the World that, "George was one of the people who encouraged Kenny to seek help.
"His drinking got out of control and Kenny realised he had to sort it out.
"It was a tough time for them but because of the strength of their relationship, they have managed to stay together."
Kenny has now checked out of the clinic and will fly back to Britain to be reunited with George, who has supported him throughout his two-month treatment.
There have been rumours suggesting that Kenny was actually fighting drug but sources told the paper that, "It is nothing to do with drugs. It was alcohol that was the problem."
Earlier this year George revealed that he regularly had sex outside of his eight-year relationship with Kenny.

"Neither of us practises monogamy. Well, if one of you does, it's really sad, isn't it? And yes, it works,” George told the Daily Mirror.
"There's no getting to know someone that you're sleeping with. There's no dining, there's no going about the social graces, whatever. You have people on the side when you need sex. Simple as that," he added.
The singer said that he always practised safe sex and claims the couple's sexual encounters with others do not harm the relationship.
"No jealousy. After eight years, I can walk out the door and tell him I'm off to get my end away. And there's not a piece of him that worries. And vice versa.
"We had our couple of years of that bliss, and we have to mix that up with the desire for newness, with the desire for the unknown. Which is what drives men's sexuality."
