Ashlee Simpson to be the new face of Sketchers
Skechers signs Simpson
Singer will promote footwear through 2007

Ashlee Simpson has signed on as the new face of Skechers.
The 21-year-old singer will replace previous celebrity endorsers Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears in promoting the company’s line of footwear.
"Ashlee is a leading force in the music industry," said Skechers president Michael Greenberg, in a release. "She's young, beautiful, talented, and … is also the perfect union between fashion and music, using her influence to empower young women to be themselves. We were drawn to her energy, style and grace.”
Under the agreement – the terms of which were not released – Simpson will appear in Skechers ads through 2007. She’ll do her first photo session for the company in August after wrapping up her summer concert tour.
“I grew up wearing Skechers. Like me, they are not afraid of taking chances and having fun," Simpson said in a release. “I'm happy to be a part of the brand and hope to add a few more pairs to my closet.”

Seriously, are they kidding?
what is going on here?! First she was busted and found to be a fraud on SNL. Now she's a driving force in music?!
no, Joan Jett was a driving force, Pat Benetar was, Gladys Knight, not ASHLEE SIMPSON!!
and also, now that's she's had PS, she's beautiful?! I'm just saddened...

I won't be buying any Sketchers. I don't wear them, but my daughter liked them. As soon as I tell her this, she won't want Sketchers anymore. Assica is a tool.

Watch out Papa Joe, Ashlee's coming up! (She's getting better ads than Jess IMO, Sketchers and Victoria's Secret are way more glamourous than Proactive and Pizza Hut... )
