Christie Brinkley Splits From Husband

"The Insider"'s MARC MALKIN breaks news that former supermodel CHRISTIE BRINKLEY is splitting from her husband of nearly 10 years, architect PETER COOK.
Brinkley's spokesperson, ELLIOT MINTZ, confirms the news: "Yes, it's true. The couple has separated. Christie's primary interest at this difficult time is for the protection of her children and [she] would be most appreciative if people would be good enough to respect her privacy."
The couple have an 8-year-old daughter, SAILOR LEE. Brinkley has two other children from her previous marriages.
The 52-year-old beauty, who played the comely blonde in the '80s comedy 'National Lampoon's Vacation' with CHEVY CHASE, has been married three other times, most notably to "Piano Man" BILLY JOEL, who penned his hit "Uptown Girl" song for her.

Respect her privacy? Ummm, Christie, I really don't think you and your unknown hubby are quite the paparazzi magnets you seem to think you are if you have to ask for some privacy. You still look good and all, but nobody cares about your private life.

Boy, that chick just cannot stay married can she?? So I guess its true: that even the hottest chicks (and I think she is still super hot) get boring.

She had one w/Billy Joel, who is now like an adult. And then she got knocked up by some total jackass that only wanted her for her money (or so the story goes) and she divorced him after that baby (a boy) was born, then hooked up w/this husband, and went through fertility issues to have her youngest......AND she was married before Billy Joel...

Her 4th divorce!!?!!! Yikes! But, why am i not surprised? Honestly, i figured this would happen. (Not that i sit around thinking about Christy Brinkley's love life!  ) I hope she & the kids get through this OK. She sure is unlucky in love. It seems like the same as with Halle Berry...A beautiful, seemingly-intelligent, successful woman that just can't seem to keep a man. Due probably to either: A) Lousy taste in men; B) Marrying a man who is way less successful & less wealthy than her and the man's ego can't take it; or, C) Something about HER/some personality trait that repels the man away after some time. JMO

This woman has to have big-time issues because she just can't stay married. She must be hell to live with.
Prior to marrying Billy Joel she was also engaged wasn't she? I believe to some race car driver who was killed so they never actually married.

^^I'm pretty sure she was actually married prior to Billy Joel AND engaged (to the race car driver that was killed). I think she was married to a photographer or something and lived in France. I apparently know far too much about Christie Brinkley, it's even making me uncomfortable.
All those Good Housekeeping articles I've read about her over the years....

She was married before Billy Joel--i don't know to who though. Joel was her 2nd husband. She's been married 4 times.
