LeAnn Rimes Recovers From Surgery

Country music singer LeAnn Rimes is recovering after undergoing surgery yesterday (11Jun06) for a serious infection she suffered after tearing the tissue in one of her legs.

The Blue singer has been forced to cancel three upcoming appearances - one today (12Jul06) in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, and back-to-back shows on Thursday (13Jul06) and Friday (14Jul06) in Niagara Falls, Canada, while her leg heals.

Her publicist Diana Baron says, "The surgery went well, and she's absolutely fine."

Rimes is expected to resume her performance schedule in Wisconsin on 19 July (06).

Rimes was ordered to seek immediate medical attention after a tear in the tissue of one of her legs became seriously infected.

Baron gave no details on the exact nature of the singer's injury or how it was sustained.
