Star Jones Reynolds, Rosie O'Donnell Feud & 'The Black Community'

Certainly there had to be a starting point for the entire Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones Reynolds feud where it certainly appears that Barbara Walters take Rosie's side. And Lloyd Grove of The NY Daily News digs deep all the way back to the May 2004, showing of 'The View.'
Star Jones Reynolds, Rosie O'Donnell Feud Began in 2004?
Star Jones Reynolds, Rosie O'Donnell Feud Began in 2004?
Daily News contributor Jawn Murray dug up the smoking videotape, Grove reports.
The exchange is telling and you can expect many to take Rosie O'Donnell's remarks as bigoted and racist.
Read and decide for yourself.

Lowdown:
The chat quickly turned ugly when O'Donnell suggested that women "stand up and scream" to protest Martha Stewart's felony conviction, and former prosecutor Jones Reynolds vehemently objected.
Rosie: "Here's what I love. The black community said you cannot have O.J. Simpson, you cannot have Jayson …"
Star: "No, excuse me! … And if the black people had a vote, they did not tell me."
Rosie: "Honey! Honey, listen to what I'm saying. … The black community said you can't have the basketball player Jayson Williams, you can't have him. …"
Star: "There were two black people on the jury!"
Rosie: "Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm saying that as a culture, and I agree with it, black people have so few role models that they said, 'You know what? I don't care, you're not taking them!'"
Star: "What???! … When did the black vote have a meeting and vote?"
Rosie: "I didn't say you had a meeting, Star!"

Grove then reports that Star ripped Rosie the next day. Babs actually tried to get Star to apologize to Rosie over the incident. (Regardless of what you think of Jones Reynolds - shouldn't Rosie be the one apologizing to the 'black community'?)
Star commented, "Although the mainstream media may not collectively report on black role models, trust and believe there are plenty out there, and you don't need to rally behind O.J. Simpson. I mean, that was inappropriate."

This may really get the ball rolling on Rosie.
It's hard to fathom why she felt she could speak for the 'black community' and why no one on the panel other than Star called her on it.
It's obvious that Walters and Rosie are pals, but still you would think Babs with all her experience would see this as a possible red flag for Rosie. And what if Star Jones had let Rosie finish? Where was she going with her rant against the 'black community'?

No matter what one thinks of either woman - this find by 'Lowdown' will ignite some serious passion and many will deem O'Donnell's remarks as racist, bigoted and ignorant.
