England soccer wives taunted after loss
thesun.co.uk
Quote:
TEARFUL England WAGs were jeered and abused by the wives and girlfriends of Portuguese players as they left the match.
An onlooker said: “The girls were all really upset at the way we went out, particularly Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Tweedy, who were in floods of tears.
“But they never expected the Portuguese girls to be so nasty as they left — laughing, booing and hissing at them.”
A group of angry England fans confronted the WAGS on a walkway, screaming: “You’re s*** and you know you are.”
The witness added: “A group of girls including Coleen McLoughlin, Lisa Roughead, Carly Zucker, Melanie Slade and Elen Rives were really abused. After the fun they’ve had it was the worst way for it to end.”
Some girls were so upset they covered their faces at their hotel to avoid being recognised.

Somehow I can't feel pity for them. Even though I'm not familiar with the WAGS, the stories about them from the last few weeks have been terrible. They seem like attention whores who are only with their men to be famous.

Hahahah, that's too funny. Too bad it didn't escalate into physical violence.

ditto the 'no pity' thing. I find it disturbing that these women are aspirational to young girls.

I'm no fan of these "ladies", but I hate poor sportmanship.

I cant help but think of the show "Footballers Wives" or something like that. They had that show on here in the US on cable and I could only stand to watch it for a few episodes. Greed, greed, and more greed is all I got from it. Sleeping around and having to have the best of things and looking down at other people.
What does WAG stand for? Sorry if I sound dumb

I think WAGS stands for Wives and Girlfriends. All these British quasi-celebs do seem to latch on to Football players. I think your issued a Footballer when you pick up your union card.

It's true! fast track to celeb land here I'm afraid. Snaffle yourself a thick man who can't speak but happens to know how to kick a ball and you are the new next big thing.

Re: England soccer wives taunted after loss
I'm not a fan of any of these girls and it sickens me to see them getting so famous even though they are nothing special and have no talent, however, I think this behavior is outrageous, immature and totally out of order.
I'm a little bitter towards Portgugal for knocking Engand out of the cup anyway but I have always thought that they are a dirty team with dirty players who just push fowls all the time to get free kicks and players sent off. Especially C. Ronaldo, I think it's great that the Manchester United fans are rejecting him now, they don't want him playing for them any more because he's a cheat.
But for the Portugese WAG's to do that to the English WAG's is just pathetic and shows what scum bags they really are. If I was Portugese I would be totally ashamed of the fact that these tramps bf's/husbands represent my country.

Ditto. What also bothers me is that I see a lot of kids at these games where this behavior supposedly goes on. Were the kids (Beckhams or anybody's) with them when this was happening?
