Jessica Simpson Hangs With "Funny, Worldly" Galpal Cher

Not one you would ascribe a "motherly" descriptor to, it would seem nonetheless that the timeless singer Cher, 60, has taken lost chick Jessica Simpson, 25, under her wing, and is giving her advice on life, love ...and fashion!
According to a story in the Enquirer, Cher was once young pop starlet Simpson's childhood idol. The two reportedly met each other at a 2004 party, but didn't ever get together. They recently met again at another function, at which Cher invited Simpson to lunch.
Says a reported insider to the mag about the odd duo:
"She (Cher) really listens to Jess, and she's given her sound advice to help get through her divorce from Nick."
The insider says the newfound friends have been out on the town recently, enjoying shopping trips to Beverly Hills and lunching in Cher's Malibu neighborhood.
"It blows Jessica's mind that she's hanging out with her childhood idol," said the insider. "For a little girl who grew up in Texas, seeing Cher up close is positively awesome.
"She told a pal: 'I love hanging with Cher. She's so funny and worldly at the same time. I feel so blessed.'"
