BRITNEY Spears was shocked - shocked! - by the reaction to her wretched NBC interview with Matt Lauer (87 percent of people polled in Us Weekly had less respect for Spears after the chat). So she attempted damage control. Spears had a photographer take pretty pictures of her - this time with professional hair, makeup and wardrobe. And despite tearfully begging for privacy, saying she hates media attention, and calling the celebrity weeklies "trash" in the interview, Spears then tried to sell the photos and an "exclusive" interview to those same trashy weeklies for $200,000. There were no takers. OK! finally bought the shots and the interview for a measly $5,000. A rep for the magazine declined comment but did say, "Who doesn't love a discount?" Spears' rep didn't return calls. Meanwhile, Spears' hubby, Kevin Federline, seems to be on a budget. Federline was shopping at Lounge in SoHo on Friday but balked at paying $150 for a T-shirt.

HAHA! I knew there was something wrong when I saw those pics in such a low-rent mag like OK! But I thought they had actually paid A LOT of $$ for them. But $5,000? I'm sure she spends more than that in one day. It's delicious that the tabloids got indignant and outright REFUSED to buy them. What does she expect after calling them trash in that interview?

Face it Britney, the only way to get public approval is to dump that piece of trash loser Federline and clean your shit up. Maybe take an etiquette course where you'll learn that it's gross to chomp your gum while talking in interviews, or at least a class on how not to act and dress like tacky white trash with money.

And maybe read a book to nurture those couple of brain cells still rattling around in your head! Damn!

I actually feel sorry for her. She seems like a nice but terribely confused girl. She's stupid but in a naive way, not in an evil way like jessica simpson. Hopefully she can pull an angelina and come out of her funk.

I agree Midnight. I actually think Brit is actually that stupid and it's not an act. I think she really thinks Federline loves her and she doesn't have any friends that care enough about her to say otherwise.

I agree. She's not acting. I can't feel for her though. When you are young that's fine but she's 25 - its time to take responsibilty for yourself. Educate yourself, get counseling something - if not for yourself, for your children. Notice her mother is never by her side anymore - they were always photographed together.
