    Vedder fears America's future

Tuesday, June 20 2006, 09:31 BST - by Peter Stiff
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has revealed he fears for the future of America and believes the world will be a terrible place for his young daughter.

The singer told USA Today, "I feel our country is being driven down a dangerous road. How do we get our hands on the wheel and out feet on the brakes?"

He said he thought the world changed when he drove his now 21-month-old daughter home from hospital.

"You experience the fragility of life beaming out of your newborn and it projects out into your anger at the way the world is run," he added.

Awww, I think he's probably a great father. I don't blame him for thinking about the future of youth, it's not looking very good.

I think he's a self important asshole. Remenmber when he was saved from drowning by some guy and his response was a little less than grateful, imo. He ought to be worried about the future of his career since his music sucks. He sounds the same on every track and all their songs sound the same.

"Eddie Vedder fears for America's future."

Don't we all, Eddie. I shudder to think that our country will someday in the not-too-distant future be in the hands of the current generation of videogame-addicted, MySpace-obsessed, cell-phone-&-SideKick-addicted, losing-virginity-at-age-12, Britney-Spears-clothing-wearing, bratty, MySuperSweet16-watching people who, horrifically, comprise a large portion of today's teenagers. EEEEEEEK!!!!!!
