Tom Solo in Tokyo
Posted Jun 20th 2006 12:38PM by TMZ Staff
Filed under: Movies, Tom and Katie
Cruise is on the road again for a promotional tour of 'M:I:3," this time hitting up Japan for its premiere of the film.
His fiancee, Katie Holmes, was nowhere in sight but that, of course, didn't stop reporters from asking about her and baby Suri.
"Unfortunately, I wanted to bring them but Suri, it'd be too much for her, we're only going to be here for a day and a half," Cruise said about their absence. Of the major celebrity babies, Suri is the only one yet to be seen, so even in Japan the media attention is definitely high.
Cruise gushed about his three children at the press conference for the film and at one point said he hopes to have ten children someday...of course, they'll all probably be conveniently timed with the opening of his next ten films.
When asked when TomKat will finally become official and marry Tom responded, "We haven't set a date yet, soon, it'll be this year."
After the Japan Premiere on Tuesday evening, Cruise is expected to ride the bullet train to Osaka with 150 fans on Wednesday.

The marriage will be this year, soon, but they haven't set a date? Erm, ok. He seems to have been saying that for months now. I stick with no marriage, no baby, a 'split' coming soon.

I can't believe I used to like this guy many moons ago. He is so strange now. Even the twinkle in his eyes have gone.

There is no baby--they're still trying to rustle up a stand in.

Poor kid, soon as it can walk & talk it will probably be forced to take brainwashing classes. So sad. I hope Katie gets a clue, grabs this alleged baby & runs -- with Tom's millions!

It's pretty easy to pack a pillow so I don't know why she hasn't run already.
***edit: bloody hell, I just watched the whole thing. Every time he talks about the baby or Katie, it's so obviously a bunch of bullshit. He laughs and tenses at the same time.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I laugh out loud everytime i just see the word "Suri" on screen or in print, written as if it is a person. There IS NO two-month-old person by the name of *Suri Cruise*. *Suri* does NOT EXIST. THERE IS NO BABY! Moron TomThumb needs to shut the f*ck up...He only draws attention to this peculiar fact by gallavanting around the world WITHOUT HIS BELOVED BABY--(GEE, WHY could that be ??!?) F*ckin freakshow of the century. P.T. Barnum would have loved the bizarre spectacle that is TomKat & Their Merry Band of $cientologists.

The way I see it, all this could go two ways. Either the media will keep him in the public interest because they want to finally see the baby or everyone will lose interest. I am losing interest myself because I believe like most of you that there is no baby.

    Good one!
In all seriousness, i really wish that SOMEONE, some public figure--a commentator, journalist, gossip-columnist writer, or fellow Hollywood person--would PUBLICLY COMMENT ABOUT THIS BIZARRE SITUATION. Journalists write drivel like, "Tom came to Tokyo without his beloved infant daughter who remained at home."--but you KNOW they have to be gagging as they write those words, KNOWING that it's probably a crock of sh*t....but as Ted Casablancas points out, he & all the other journalists have to just go along with the whole charade, or they'd get their pants sued off them if they actually wrote about *Suri* probably not existing. CRAAAAAAAAZY stuff!!
