LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Olivia Newton-John has spoken out about her missing boyfriend.

The 'Grease' actress admits she is still devastated over the disappearance of Patrick McDermott - her partner of nine years - and is hopeful the rumours he has been seen in Mexico are true.

She told Australian TV station Channel 9: "It's very distressing for everyone in the family. We miss him and love him and we'd be thrilled if it was true."

The 48-year-old cameraman was believed to have drowned during a fishing trip last June in San Pedro, California.

After his disappearance, it was revealed McDermott had mounting debts and speculation was rife that he had "faked" his own death to escape bankruptcy and a possible prison sentence over unpaid child support to his ex-wife, actress Yvette Nipar.

McDermott was reportedly seen in Mexico's Baja Peninsula just two weeks ago and one witness even claims to have spoken to him.

A US grand jury is currently preparing to launch an investigation into the cameraman's mysterious disappearance.

exactly what I was thinking! and it makes this whole thing even more fishy that she is reacting like she is.

The fact that he owes tons in child support makes him sound like an even bigger piece of shit. Can you just see KFed doing this in 10 years so he doesn't have to pay?

This guy pulled a disappearing act on Olivia if you ask me. The jerk didn't even have the balls to properly end their relationship either. He sounds like a total scumbag. From what I'm hearing he owed tons of child support and seemed to have a lot of financial problems. Olivia better hope he's really dead because she truly is better off without him.

One message to Olivia if he is alive though: She needs to read that book "He's Just Not That Into You"!!! Any man who could pull this shit and have no regards of your feelings is telling you loud and clear where you stood in his life.
