Get ready for a new war between Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman!

Nicole is planning to move back to her native Australia — and wants to take the kids. But her friends believe Tom won't allow it.

Nicole recently purchased a $3 million penthouse in Sydney Harbor and wants to move to her new home with the two kids she adopted with Tom, 11-year-old Connor and Isabella, 13.

"Tom will not be happy," said one friend.

"He likes to be the one in charge of their children. That means them staying in L.A."

Nicole, whose 10-year marriage to Tom ended in 2001, would love the kids to spend their teen years away from L.A.'s fast-paced lifestyle. Nicole has been trying for a long time to persuade Tom that Connor and Isabella should be educated away from Hollywood, according to her friends.

One of Nicole's pals explained: "Nicole believes that Connor and Isabella will have a much happier life away from L.A. and all that Hollywood madness.

She's desperately hoping Tom will allow them to move, especially since the birth of his own child with Katie Holmes."

Friends say that Nicole's fiancé, country singer Keith Urban, fully supports her move back to Australia, which is also his native country. And they say he'd love her kids to be part of their household.

Added the pal: "Connor and Isabella adore him because he's great fun to be with and always makes an effort to hang out with them."

I really hope this is true and she is able to get the kids away from freaky Tom, zombie Kate and invisible Suri... even if they spend part of the year with Nicole and the rest of the time with Tom

I would think she has as much chance to win custody as Tom does. She has enough money to hire an attorney that could potentially beat his gay pants off - and he's giving all of his money to CO$. I hope she fights, I hope she wins and I hope she reaches in and snatches his ass right out of the closet!

I don't know if I am buying this one. She is fixing to marry a country music star and I know you can make music anywhere, but seems like he would want to stay around Nashville...wouldn't think they would live a part this soon in the marriage. And, if she wants them away from LA, no better place than Nashville or some little suburb around there.

I am sure she signed away her rights to full physical custody in the pre-neup before they even adopted the kids. There is no way the little man will allow her to take away the kids and educate them anywhere other than the CO$.

How would Tom 'not allow it'. He may be powerful with a bunch of ass-kissing Hollywood types but somehow I don't think he'd have the same pull in a courtroom. And really, does he want her to start revealing all the weird shit he is sure to have stuffed in the closet? Let them go, Tom! You've got a pillow to control now.
