Paris Hilton in jail? As if!

LOS ANGELES (KP International) Is it a crime to hit and run? Under California penal code the act could carry up to six months in the slammer. But the drab duds one must don in jail don't really work for socialite Paris Hilton who will reportedly avoid such penalties from her recent bump-and-run last Thursday (June 8) in a parking lot in Los Angeles.

"Did she commit a crime? No. She was swarmed by paparazzi," said Elliot Mintz, the socialite's publicist. "The intensity of the lights, flashbulbs, momentarily disoriented her. She backed up; there was a minor fender-bender. No injuries. She then told me she notified one of the parking people at the facility how to contact her and asked the person to please pass that along" to the owner of the struck car.

According to Mintz, "Paris is a very responsible and a very good driver, she takes her driving seriously. This was unfortunate and it will be handled appropriately."
Hilton has also been named in another vehicle-related incident, but this time she wasn't even in the car. Ivan Alvarez and Monica Delgado have reportedly filed a suit with LA Superior Court seeking damages and compensation from a pile-up that occurred in May 2004 after Hilton's friend, Brooke Ashley Brinson, who was driving Hilton's Mercedes, smashed into a car which then dominoed into the plaintiff's.

First of all - hit and run is illegal, IF she was REALLY concerned why not stay there and dial 9-1-1; JUST like the rest of us are required to do or face getting charged.
Take away all her money and her a$$ would be in jail like any of us - except most of us would have written a note or called the cops! lol
