Cruise's ex invite
14/06/2006 4:30:00 PM 'Mission: Impossible III' actor Tom Cruise must invite ex-wife Nicole Kidman to his wedding - according to Scientology teachings.
BANG) - Tom Cruise is inviting ex-wife Nicole Kidman to his wedding.
The 'Mission: Impossible III' star is reportedly faced with the daunting task of inviting his ex of nine years to his July nuptials to Katie Holmes - because of his Scientology beliefs.
The sc-fi cult's teachings state that former couples "must seek closure" before they can enter new unions.
Scientology followers believe having a former spouse present allows a person to enter the new union in peace.
Meanwhile, Nicole is planning a wedding of her own.
She is reportedly set to tie the knot with country singer Keith Urban in Sydney on June 25.
The flame-haired actress recently proved she can be as eccentric as her former spouse - by planning to get married in the dark to deter paparazzi.
The couple are said to have consulted a local helicopter firm for advice on how to deter photographers on their big day so they can have a private ceremony.
Peter Gibson - of Australia's civil aviation safety authority - has praised the idea, saying: "The cover of darkness would certainly make it difficult, if not impossible, for the paparazzi to do anything from an airborne position."

How does having a former spouse present allow you to enter the new union in peace? Is it a way of saying to the ex "look at how good I am. Someone else is marrying me, blah...blah" What happens if the ex speaks up during the service? Now that would be something I would like to see but knowing how crazy scientologists can be they will probably muzzle the ex at the door.

So does this mean his most current ex or all of them? Does Mimi Rogers have to be there, too?

Oh yea they were married for a short while weren't they? I doubt Mimi will even be invited. I think Tom and the cult are trying to make it look like Thumb and Nicole had an amicable divorce and since Nicole is more high profile than Mimi, they are just wanting more publicity for Thumb and Pillow mom wedding.

I'm sorry but she has not been 'flame-haired' for years. And Tomthumb will do whatever the 'church' tells him to do...otherwise all will be revealed.
