The fight for Weird Al Yankovic's Hollywood star

(KP International) For nearly three years a group of die hard fans of cheeze-tastic parody musician Weird Al Yankovic have been fighting to have a star for their hero placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The parodies that Yankovic has been popping out for the past 25 years, including hits such as "Smells Like Nirvana" and "Eat It," may have been recognized by the Grammy Awards, but has yet to get his comeuppance on the Walk.
Those at WeirdAlStar.com have fought to right the wrong.

On the site they state "It's time people took Weird Al seriously and started walking all over him." Through cookbooks, Al-endars, ribbon sales and other fundraising activities the site has finally raised the US$15,000 needed for the application for a star.

Fans of the curly-haired weirdo must now sit and wait in eager anticipation until the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce reviews the request and reaches their verdict as to weather of not Yankovic is star worthy.

^^I agree; i think he should definetly get a star. His parodies are much funnier and more interesting than any of emminem's and pink's celeb parodies. Has anyone heard his parody of james blunts "you're beautiful" called you're pitiful". I think it is one of the best songs ever written.
